Pretty sure I'd still want the one with Kinect. Odds are good I'd just need one later anyways for some reason.
Wow, that's disappointing. I loved the original Micro Games!
My (crosses fingers) original, backward-compatible fatboy PS3 is still chugging along just fine but it's cool to see some new models!
LoL thanks! It's a classic and I'd hoped it would work well with the article.
I commend Microsoft not only for the apology but in how they didn't pull any punches on their position. I'm on the fence about the Xbox One but definitely yes on the PS4.
Isn't Arkham Origins going to be on the Vita as well?
The industry will be just fine. Its evolution to digital distribution being the rule rather than the exception will simply be delayed, likely for one more generation and even then making provisions for physical media fans would be preferable.
I wish I'd have gotten the PS4 edition! I wonder which system it will look best on?
What Microsoft is doing with the Xbox One may look good on the surface for consumers at large, but for those with a very specific focus on gaming and collecting those games it's tough to swallow.
I watched this earlier and the crowd definitely seemed enthused when Jimmy pointed out the used games issue. This kind of exposure for the issue can't be good for the Xbox One.
I'm not sure if mine auto-downloaded this update or not? I sure hope not, still working my way through The Last of Us!
Goodbye, old friend. Had a lot of good times playing Silent Hill 2, Katamari, FF X, and the like.
The PS4 seemed to come in at just the right price so I have to agree. I'm glad to hear some support for the Wii U given how much flack it's taken lately from developers, publishers, and those of us thirsting for more games.
It's awfully disconcerting. Even considering that I love many of Microsoft's exclusive properties, it's hard to stay loyal feeling like I've been punished for remaining so. Thanks for the comment :)
Microsoft certainly DOES need to work on their salesmanship this time around. $499.99 and restrictive (even punishing) policies don't exactly thrill me into recommending the system. Everyone will have different desires in their next system, but MIcrosoft put a hurtin' on themselves between 24 hour checks, elimination of (practical) used game sales, and a high cost to entry.
Agreed on the protection of consumer rights. I'm not quite sure why the gaming industry feels it's immune to the same second-hand sales that occur within other industries and Microsoft's moves feel punishing as an Xbox supporter and Live subscriber for nearly a decade now.
It's ok not to give a click to the site, but as far as games go I think Microsoft did a better job at the actual E3 announcement of focusing on games than they did at the weird pre-announcement which focused more heavily on multimedia capabilities. Doing so at E3 would've been nightmarish methinks since gamers predominantly stay tuned into E3 and not the people who would be more interested in those features.
Sony had some great showcases as well and I'm particular...
Hey all, perhaps I should have titled the article differently but my point was that Sony HAS done right by gamers, I'm just not so sure if their motivations truly lie with us or if they saw an opportunity in Microsoft's blunder. I do appreciate the feedback and earnestly see merits to both systems but I don't think anyone would argue that Sony did an excellent job highlighting the strengths of their system compared to the Xbox One.
Hey everyone, Josh here from GeeksPodcast. I know emulators are available, of course, but TechnicianTed is correct- it's for the benefit of those who are collectors more than anything. That, and parents or the uninitiated looking to get a cheap game who don't want the headache of a knockoff with a faulty save system.
@imahustla19 I SHOULD have known better, but hey, at least I got to make a cool video out of the experience :)
Thank you all for watchin...
I don't think she'd be out to get paid per se, just an integrity thing as she'd already lent her likeness directly to another game.
