I'm convinced that if Microsoft were to lower the price to a reasonable amount of money, considering it's less powerful than the PS4 (and get rid of the Kinect.), that it'd fare much better. Misleading title, but anyway, no the imaginary war is not over. Nobody can compete with the PS4, but both consoles are bound to make a decent profit for both companies with upcoming games. (Unless they screw up at E3.) To be fair, though, the Wii U has never fared well in Europe.

Another game that defines next-gen. I might sound pessimistic but everything but the Wii U has taken off so far, and even Wii U games are highly rated and fun. With Infamous, Titanfall, Deep Down, MK8, MGSV, Batman Arkham Knight, SSB4, and MANY others, I wonder if it will stay this way all this gen.

You misunderstand. People call for Nintendo to abandon hardware altogether, but if they're beating a so called more popular company in terms of hardware, then it'd make no sense to abandon it NOW unless things get worse than they already are.
And neither I nor the author of this article is a fanboy.
It is annoying to pay for a whole console if you want to play Nintendo games, but....
A) They actually make more on Hardware than anyone else.
B)The Wii U is actually a solid console to play these games on. I'm LOVING the Gamepad. (But not like that.)

Both were exclusives. They wouldn't have been on it anyway. And besides, the Wii U has other games that run laps around those games. (Though not graphics wise.)
