That's definitely coming, but takes a tremendous amount of work on this like recording hundreds of voice lines for individual NPCs.
Sure seems like the past to me! Don't think we'll ever revert to a world with physical discs and without MTX
I know what you mean, I feel like one day, perhaps in the next 20 years that may be closer to reality.
Yep, this is covered in the article, tools, engines and hardware have become infinitely more efficient since even 10 years ago
Exactly, if a $70 pricetag meant no microtransactions, and the developers would support games more than ever, everyone would be on board. However, we know this won't be the case.
The exchange rates are a little bit different between Canada and the US, but I get what you're saying. Games are slowly creeping up in price across the globe and this will only lead to fewer sales for these companies.
I know what you mean, people just won't pay $70 up front and will wait for heavier discounts.
A lot of my hopes for Fable 4 died when Lionshead went under, but I'm more hopeful than ever that it'll return on the Series X now!
I agree with the best duration for a linear experience being around that length, but open world games need to feel more open and expansive. We all love the feeling of finding an unexpected quest round the corner!
Good catch, missed that one on the edit!
Interesting read. Sony and Microsoft are very much waiting for each other to make the first move, which does hint that both are uncomfortable with the amount they will have to charge to come close to the component pricing.
Couldn't agree more on Bully and The Getaway. 2 of the best from the PS2 era!
@RPGSama @Spicyram It's a fact, this generation didn't sell as well as the previous one, the same is true for the generation before that.
I published an article a few days ago with a similar sentiment. The exposure that E3 grants smaller studios is invaluable to them. Great article.
I agree with you mostly. I think things would look a lot different if Microsoft had followed up the Xbox 360 with a much better showing though. Console sales are declining year on year too, so it'll be interesting to see how long consoles are a popular means of gaming.
Couldn't agree more, E3 was completely fine in it's format and was a week-long summer festival of gaming. I hope it continues to be.
As much as this is correct and news outlets want you to read their stories... News is there to condense the information for people who don't want to, or don't have time to watch all the coverage from the week.
@lodossrage I am aware that this does happen, but you're more likely to get an honest opinion from a journalist or fan than a games company. Publishers are there to sell the game, the public are the ones who's opinion matters
@lodossrage Gaming companies controlling the narrative isn't always a good thing. Giving people the chance to experience their game and allow organic conversation is almost always more important
Well it's an indie game, the graphics weren't what I had a problem with really. It was more the repetitive gameplay.
