Foxtrot you know the stuff :D and I totally agree with your comment. I think the old gameplay mechanics or "relics of a bygone era" are indeed what made the games great. The camera angles also brought tension to the areas, when never knowing what was behind the corner. Or then just by not seeing far enough because of the camera, but you still hear enemies it was scary. Also small inventory and itembox etc were cool.

Putting all hope to one famous actor isn't a good idea imo. I bet gamers see Spacey only like 5 minutes in the game, but they show him a lot in the trailer so his fans buy it.
I guess it's because they release them too often after MW2 while each new title not having much difference to earlier CoD so people might lose interests. What would be better is if they wouldn't release one every year and maybe take a break to produce a new IP in the meantime, then release new CoD some years later.
But money is business, so I guess that plays a major part in why they keep doing them. I wonder what other games they could do besides shooters. I've o...
You could also ask why do we get the new console full of small indie games, which I can play on PC? I'm not saying they are bad either, but I do also want new big titles for my PS4. Maybe some developers release a remaster, which don't take so much time, while working on a new title. I agree about the pre-order crap though and DLC too much everywhere.
Good article imo and you made some good references. People do confuse remake and remaster sometimes as they sound the same.
I think no one is 100% wrong or right here, it just comes down to opinions. Considering the release of RE1, this time it just happens to be that most people's opinions are blinded by the number 60 + fps and is the reason they mostly moan about this RE1. As this remaster will only have 30fps.
Still I know many hate to get more remasters etc in...

To be honest, there's really no point in showing something else than CGI in AC trailer, because we all know how the games play. I got nothing against CGI trailers etc if done well, but we do maybe see too much of them.

I'm definitely getting this myself :), one of the best games ever. As this page will maybe get a lot more rageing soon, I rant first. I'm sick of all the people whining about it not having 60fps, you were born too late to probably never play the old games. It's a STATIC CAMERA that don't move, only character moves on the screen so NO NEED for it. It's not some TLoU or UC with lots of action pieces, it is SLOW paced gameplay with survival horror elements.

If this is true, I would be so happy. There isn't many survival horror games these days, but a remake of RE2 would blow my mind, like they did with RE1. I think I've played RE2 most of the series, it just got so memorable things like William, Mr. X or whatever the name was, licker and the whole setting in the police station.

Exactly, I hope others realize this too even if 60 fps would be possible, RE1 is the kind of game that don't need it. It's amazing old game with old and slower gameplay mechanics. Just because this is supposed to be a remaster, don't expect it to be like TLoU:Re.

I don't understand the reasons behind that decision, it's like some worship the number 60. But everyone got their opinions, if they don't buy it then I don't care. I will enjoy the game for sure. I guess they skip all the 30 fps games then.
Hollywood running out of movie ideas once again, either remakes, reboots or ruining our favorite games. Not putting much faith in this yet after all the failures with earlier game movies.
