I will always have a soft spot in my heart for MK solely for the fact that they at least attempt to make a story within a fighting game. MK9's story mode was ace!
i had a friend who struggled with the controls of "Stick it to the Man". Incidentally she couldn't stick it through her own inability to stick it to the controls.
i think this is a case of them drinking to much cool aid out of Brianna Wu's latest drivel on how games shouldn't have too many elaborate buttons and control methods as it scares off newcomers.

really recommend Resogun if it is your cup of tea. Id also recommend LBP3 but i havent played it yet but loved the first 2 :) so going by that would definitely recommend
