Honestly I don't care about the 2nd hand market as much this time around, maybe a few years after the release of both consoles this winter, but in the end I'm switching to PS4 because the Xbox showed me absolutely nothing that I am interested in besides technology that I don't give a shit about...
That astounding. I didn't realize that they only talked about those 3 things that much. wow. I was upset when they didn't reveal the look of the PS4 but after watching the Xbox one reveal I really don't care. Sony can wrap a turd for 400 bucks and I'll pay for it as long as the games released are going to be that damn cool.
The only thing I care about, which is hard to ask to some degree, put the entire games library (PS1-3) on digital format for download. Same thing with Xbox. More money for you, more games for us! PS4 FTW.
What they showed was current gen. They supposedly have plans to reveal stuff at E3. Not that I'm backing Xbox, they fucked up bad in my book. PS4 for the win.
The only thing I would really want (which may piss some people off) is the ability to download the older games digitally, then I can keep them on my hard drive and play them whenever I wanted, AND still trade them in for value with gamestop. I'm upset that they aren't allowing the trading of used games anymore, that is insane to me. My assumption is that second hand game stores as a whole are fucked. I just watched an old school gaming store go out of business to gamestop and vintage stock. It sucks cause it was one of my favorite stores. I got my games that I came for at least, Final Fantasy 2/3 and Secret of Mana baby! There aren't any advantages really. I'm mostly a second hand gamer because I don't have the money to steadily go out and shell out 60 bucks for a new game. It's bullshit, and I was already thinking about shifting to PS4 anyway, this is the icing on the cake. The fact is, they want their money for second hand products, and since they have a digital archive, it makes sense for them to do this and reasonably do this to the consumer because they are basically fucking us all out...
