My favorite type of games.
As I mentioned in the review, the good outweighs the bad. The combat, progression and other positive aspects pushed my subjective enjoyment high enough to rate it an 8 (and I listed the reasons why). That, however, doesn't mean the bad doesn't exist and isn't worth talking about. A rating of 8 usually means a game has pros and cons, but the pros are stronger.
Yeah, strange agenda. Horizon got an 8, God Of War a 9, Spiderman an 8 and Death Stranding got a 9. On my game of the year list (Which is publicly published) Death Stranding got game of the year and Days Gone made the top 5. No agenda indeed....
I'm guessing you only looked at the scores, context matters. I try to make sure and clearly outline exactly why I rate a game low or high in my reviews. Something else to keep in mind is both State of Decay 2 and Sea of Thieves were reviewed over a year after release and with all the updates during that timeline. No Mans Sky would likely have a very different critical reception if it was revisited by critics today.
It seems the issue you are having is the fact that many...
That doesn't make a lot of sense. The original was on PlayStation 2. It was then on PSP, The Wii, 3DS and now Playstation once more. Why would the platform it is on be an issue for me? I detail what issues I have, most of them are centered around the lack of challenge in the game.
Nothing in the article refers to graphics except to say how great Monster Hunter World looks.
Hi! I'm the author of the article and in it, I actually say the exact opposite! I'm over enjoyed that a game I have been passionate about for the last 14 years is now loved by so many others! However, I am really disappointed that in that process, fans like myself got the boot. I don't want to take anything away from the mainstream, however, I would really like an option to bump up the difficulty without resorting to self-imposed restrictions!
Days Gone is in the 70s on open and meta critic. The 70s do not mean the game is " not reviewing well." Games don't have to be in the upper 90s to be good and that's a dangerous standard to set. Source: I'm a game reviewer and critic.
Seeing as it was one out of seven listed pros I don't really considerate it desperate. But I did in fact, enjoy the amount I could customize the Javelin without even spending coins, most games of this nature don't allow that. As for the typo, occasionally one will get by my editor and myself. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. It's fixed now.
Sure it can. The gameplay itself is pretty great, the gunplay is solid, the powers and flight are fun, the javelins all play differently. But its the bugs outside of the gameplay that can bring it down. The word you're looking for is *stable* it couldn't be stable yet buggy.
That was intended to be a joke, but I either leaned too far into it or not enough. Your comment made me laugh though so maybe it's funnier if it comes off as an unintentional misuse of words. Thanks for reading/watching.
