Its very nice that an update provides better speed but why hasn't this been in the system from launch? I didn't know increased internet speeds can be patched... but now that I think of steam and its inconsistent download speeds, this confuses me even more and the (for some consoles) slow download speeds of the PS4 too.

Are you really comparing Call of Duty with Civ 6 ON PC?! The PC community is known not to be popular with Call of Duty. You are as biased as any PC fanboy extremist can be.
Plus, since we go by your "players online" logic. Dota 2 makes Civ 6 a really crappy game.
