I never said anything about survival components; simply, that space travel lacks depth and intrigue. There are too many menus, and I get no sense of distance or discovery.
I gotta say, I'm disappointed by the exploration in Starfield. I don't really care that you can't run across entire planets, but the actual mechanics of the game as related to flying around space basically boil down to clicking menus. It's all fast travel, and so I don't get that same sense of wonder that I had in NMS. I really wish the game had a smaller scope and just included NMS mechanics :/
The mixed critical reception is super interesting around Starfield. I think I'll still play it.
Really sad to hear. I hope Dreadwolf isn't a botched launch.
Kinda glad UC4 isn't the PS4's highest rated anymore. I felt that was kinda over rated.
Cory Barlog has literally spoken of Dark Souls as inspiration, so it's not pure BS journalism. This is nothing like old God of War games.
You must be joking... it's just a poor excuse for Fortnite with the whole retro 80s paint job to make it look slightly interesting.
I think there was a time when the whole "ten year plan" Destiny thing could have worked and been cool, assuming that the base experience was priced right and had an entertaining enough gameplay loop AND upcoming content was to be mostly free. But that has happened at all... so yeah, in theory I think a foundation sort of package could have been cool - almost like an MMO - but it hasn't worked out that way.
So pumped to hear this is as good as I'd hoped. I literally cannot wait Friday!!!
So you played the whole game in like half a day? Don't be absurd. There's a massive day one patch you're not factoring in here.
What is the rubbish? Review codes have barely been sent out, and certainly not before the 23 gig update. Do not support this website, it's just looking for clicks with a super early review.
That's a bit harsh. You know why these sites do it... Ad revenue is the only way they can pay staff to write articles and cover the industry. Wasn't an issue when we all paid money for magazines, but now everyone wants things for free. Five clicks won't kill you.
What an absurd bunch of comments. EA just paid $400 million and you're all speaking as though they want to shut the studio down. What a load of rubbish written by children who don't understand what they are talking about. EA has closed no more studios than Microsoft and Sony.
That's such a redundant thing to say. Business is about competition, and lots gamers find industry analysis really interesting.
I think the characters and story have a depth we haven't seen from the franchise in years. Although Infinite War wasn't as bad as people made out.
Why, lol? I thought it was kinda unique. Nothing else like it on n4g. Would you prefer another top 10 best games of 2017 article or something?
Annoying but it only took me 20 seconds to skip through... not really the end of the world. These guys have to eat, lol... People are so entitled to think they should get everything for free smh.
Chris and Jill > Leon and Claire imo
Square Enix has definitely nailed its toys. Take note Nintendo...
Genuinely incredibly impressed by this effort from Ubi. It's the Far Cry I've wanted for years - less hand holding and silly waypoints.
