Is Tokyo in Japan enough? Ya know, like 90% of Japan Studio's staff was merged into Asobi, right?

I'm going to guess you don't actually play many/any Japanese games.

Don't project xbox problems on PlayStation.

Sony first party released, GT7, Horizon Forbidden West, MLB The Show 22, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, plus The Last of Us Remake and God of War are coming.

They also had Stray, Sifu, Ghostwire Tokyo and Babylons Fall among others release as console exclusive.

P.S. Excellent clickbait.

I played the demo, not a huge fan of the real time combat personally. But it's pretty good for the style of game that it is.

Game Pass didn't start its real growth until it was on PC.

It's not console that's driving Game Pass numbers, it's PC.

Do you really think that a future of low budget indies and MTX filled games that can survive the new subscription dynamic are better than the type of big budget single player games without DLC and MTX that Sony was offering consumers before Microsoft forced this market change?

Because I don't.

I think that in 10 years, people will look back at those 3-4 games a year we had on PS4 and wish we still had that level of ...

PS Plus has far more GOTY winners and nominated games.

And are you really trying to claim that Game Pass has more variety than PS Plus? PS Plus has around 3x as many games covering every single genre. Premium has 400 games alone, Premium has more classic games than Game Pass has in total.

So I am going to call B.S. on both your quality and variety claims.

1266d ago 30 agree4 disagreeView comment

No one point out that that Premium offers 400 games over extra (more than the competition has in total), and definitely don't mention that it also offers streaming of more than 750 games including to PC for only $1.67 more than Extra.

And hey, no one point out that originally the plan was for Kiwami 1 and 2 to be Premium this month, but it seems like Sony did the consumer friendly thing and changed it so all the Yakuza games would be available to Extra users.

Not true, PlayStation Plus is not starting from zero. It has an already existing subscription base of nearby 50 million users.

And from what I can tell, the new tiers have been extremely popular with people getting long term subscriptions since it's at a significant discount.

The only thing the service needs to do is maintain a compelling list of games.

Other than Windows, which I am forced to buy because of software compatibility needs, I don't buy any Microsoft products, not that my contribution or lack there of matters in any way to a 2 trillion dollar company

As for innovation, I'd be happy if there had been a lot less Microsoft "innovation" in gaming, skip the DLC, skip the paid online, skip the online gaming focus, skip the subscription focus, skip the streaming foc...

Right, failed to start consoles, like Pippin and Nuon.

If it wasn't for Japanese consoles, Atari probably would have been the last console that wasn't some kind of PC.

These cards are fascinating to me. I mean, they are almost certain to be DOA assuming them ever even arrive, but it's interesting to see what Intel is attempting.

It might have been the last console had Japan not been making alternative options.

Atari was pretty much the last console made in the west until xbox. (not counting failed to start devices)

My feeling is that if Microsoft can eliminate PlayStation, Microsoft will force cloud gaming on the industry as fast as they can get away with it.

IMHO they are just salivating at the idea of more subscriptions and getting rid of the console that they have been selling at a loss to be able to offer more powerful consoles than Sony.

You answrered your own question.

"So why would Microsoft spend 70 billion and then hamstring it's ROI?"

PlayStation is the main Platform for Call of Duty.

And PlayStation is hardly "beating" Microsoft this generation, with all the subsidization they're doing and the console supply limitations they are quickly pulling consumers away from PlayStation

1267d ago 8 agree18 disagreeView comment

Ya know, until they put PlayStation out of the console business. Then it'll be super profitable.

And why should Microsoft even care if it's profitable, there is plenty of evidence that shows Microsoft has been running Game Pass at a loss since the start and spending 100bn on studios is two generations or more of profit from its Xbox division.

Microsoft's goal is clearly not any kind of short term profitability. Thier goal is to continually a...

Of course Microsoft is the victim here, it's not like they are using money gained by everything other than their gaming division to specifically target companies that have strong ties to PlayStation.

I mean it's not like the first thing they did when they bought Bethesda was remove all Bethesda's games from PSNow and put them on Game Pass, but hey, they are the victims, and they never do anything wrong, only Sony tries to keep things off rival platforms.

1267d ago 9 agree2 disagreeView comment

You'll be such a big winner when Microsoft put them out of business! I'm sure they won't do anything anticonsumer when they have no competition.

Unfortunately, when one company has the level of control Microsoft does over their industry, they can force unpopular things even when people don't want them.

And the fact that you have so many Microsoft cheerleaders who support them even when they are doing things they ordinarily wouldn't support, it makes it that much easier for them.

Take Google and Stadia, people hated streaming and were very vocal against it, now that you have Microsoft doin...
