Hey just to clarify, I never said they're the only ones making those games. Of course, they aren't Ori and the Blind Forest is one of my favorite games (colorful, cartoony, Microsoft). I was just explaining that in terms of differentiation, Nintendo does colorful non-ultra violent games really well and those are the games that they push in terms of marketing
No bias at all! I just think there's a distinct differentiation between Microsoft / Sony and Nintendo. I never said dark and serious games were bad I'm a HUGE Last Of Us and Halo fan. It's just nice to have Nintendo back on top with bright and colorful games that they're so good at making. That's all I was saying.
Hey There. Get what you're saying and maybe I should've been more specific. I would agree that yes both Microsoft and Sony produce games from a vast amount of different genres and art styles. But the games that they put the budget behind, the games they showcase at conferences, all tend to be more serious. Think Days Gone, The Last Of Us, God of War, Halo, Gears Of War... That's where the differentiation happens between Microsoft / Sony and Nintendo and that's what I was speak...
That's definitely a good one. I was trying to pick things that were exclusive to Xbox or firsts for Xbox fans. But I'm pumped for Shadow of War!
it's the first Kingdom Hearts game that Xbox fans get to play!
The article mentions light hearted games on each platform (Ori and the blind forest, stardew valley). The point is that PS4 and Xbox are heavily relying on dark and serious and it's nice to see happy and colorful coming from Nintendo. It's good differentiation and a nice change of tone.

We as consumer can't expect developers to keep doing the same thing over and over again, especially with shifting markets and differing opinions and directions within each and every company. As much as all of us at Game Savvy would love a brand new Fallout RPG, markets do change and the market ...
