Games like Dead Space,Mass Effect and Assassins Creed can't be Ignored at all. Along with Uncharted these franchises were the Trademark of this Gen.

Looks like "The End is Near", Activision is pushing the sales of the prev. games and getting ready for MW3 for LIVE users, which is its main Source & selling point.
In this war, It seems BF3 has done half of its job!! Now only after the release of the 2 Biggies will determine who won @ LAST... Man Standing...

Just few days before when I was looking at the Crescendo(Making of Gears 3).. It seems both Cliffy & Rod took this game much personally, since both lost their fathers at an early Age, Hence we can expect to see the emotion in Gears 3.. (Marcus & his Dad).
But yeah, after the Beta, It seems Epic is leaving no stones behind to make this a powerful Impact and a concluding Trilogy, which is no doubt will shift more Consoles in Fall.
A Big Gears fan here...
I think the OP/Article knowingly put GOW III in this list to get the attention and more Hits! which is not so surprising the trend followed in n4g!

If GOW III is a disappointment then HELL even UC2/BS2/ME2/RDR/FO3 and many great games can be considered in some way.
The game that can be listed as a Top 10 Games of this Gen., which you have placed in this list makes...
No doubt, but actually 2 games which are on par with Uncharted 2 and sometimes even beating UC2 are GOW III & KZ3, Its a bit surprising why the author didn't mentioned them.
But yeah.. maybe on a consistency basis UC2 hands down wins against them.
Actually apart from Crysis 2, most of the Games are not out yet.. we have to wait & see for the judgement but yeah.. No DOUBT, the Sequel to the Game compared here definitly raises the Bar! Its ND, can't ...
Its always going to be close with Killzone 2/Infamous/Resistance/R&C/ Demon Souls......
But the three Games that Defines the Playstation 3 and shatters the competition in terms of Visuals/Technical Showcase/Narration/Presentatio n has to be the 3 Musketeers....
C'mon its a No Brainer Gamers :)
Uncharted 2/God of War III/Metal Gear Solid 4.

Not an easy ride though...
Well, for the 1st time it took around 7 hrs. for me to beat this game enjoying everymoment of the castle and all....
I think its possible beating it under 4 hrs. but for 2 hrs... ps3trophies.org FTW!!! :P
Games like these don't even come often, so my suggestion don't for trophies in 1st playthrough, enjoy this masterpiece but make sure after that u platinum it. 1 proud platinum. :)
