Good point, but having the laser out in the open would subject it to dust or fingerprints, or a child sticking something in the mechanism.

If the PS3 was sold for about a $200. 500GB HDD is about $80 or more. AC3-$60. About $140 total if bought separate from bundle. You actually save about $40

Bundle with U3 & GT5 for $199 is a good deal but with only 12gb...I don't know. Seems too little. It could put the PS3 on par with 360 or past it since there is only about a few million difference.
All these rumors that are floating around seems more likely that a new model is coming. This is good since my original 80GB YLOD a few months ago. I've been waiting for the new model to come soon.
