If you are simply adding HD capacity then there should be no development necessary. Put out a large HD SKU and have people pop them in themselves. Offer a small trade in value if necessary. People make news out of nothing.
As I mentioned before I have both a 360, Wii and a PS3. The 360 will do 1080p over component cables just fine. My TV supports it and it rocks. The PS3 is the most powerful console out there. I hope it succeeds. It will not make it at the current level of sales though. It contends with an established install base of the 360 and now the Wii. If the Wii were not so popular I would say that the PS3 would edge the 360 out but the market has historically shown that there is room for two consoles in...

Without developers it will fail. If they do not get the install base to make development profitable it will be useless. The PS3 is the most advanced gaming system on the market, it is the most powerful. But without games it is a shiny Blue Ray Player. It is reality. The best things do not always co...
OK, the PS2 has a huge fan base. I can get one in Canada for $129.00. It has an enormous game catalogue. No wonder parents are buying it for their kids. It is cheaper than anything out there today.
The PS3 is overpriced. I have one. It is. I also have a Wii and a 360. I am a gamer. I love games. The PS3 is looking like the Sega Saturn to me. It is powerful before its time. It has solid lineage but it is horribly marketed and overpriced. My Saturn is collecting dust in my closet...
I am really glad that my TV does 1080p over component cables. It works great. I have never even come close to filling up the 20Gig HD so no need to upgrade there.
