Microsoft are looking at the long term, currently to get more content for gamepass they pay third party developers for games also available on other platforms. By owning more developers making exclusive content the less they have to rely on third parties.

Seems like Sony is the only one losing out at the moment with 13% or $20 billion getting wiped off their value. Game developers like ubisoft for example their value has gone up.

My first console was the Sega master system and owned nearly every console and handheld since. Currently own ps4 Pro, xbox-one, 3ds psp and wii.
