I had high hopes for this game but it looks quite average to me. It seemed like a great idea a few years ago with boasts of massive 100 vs 100 battles, but things have changed since then, and the scope of this game seems to have changed. My guess is they've had a very troubled development.

I've found OXM to get a little carried away with the hype in some of the bigger games, but in general they mark pretty well imo. The score they've given is very good.

In my experience CVG rate games quite well. They're not TOO generous with the scoring, but if a game has issues they'll let you know with a pretty avergage/bad score. Most games seem to get 7's

Besides the theme I think this game will be quite successful online anyway. It seems to have kept the core gameplay from CoD4, which is what made it so popular.
The whole point of the process he's discussing(tech 5 engine) is that they can stop certain platforms from lagging behind in development.
He uses Quake Wars as an example, that the PC version is nearly done then the 360 version is a bit behind the PC, but the PS3 version is lagging behind quite a lot.

It doesn't say anything about release dates. It says the development for the PS3 version is moving 1 to 2 weeks slower, which is understandable. The 2 versions will be released at the same time when both versions are good and ready.

Prior to E3 Sony were getting blasted for having very few exclusives and not really many games in general. They went to E3 and did exactly what they needed to do, and that was announce new games and plenty of info on the up and coming titles.
MS have already released many games as well as a few exclusives so their plan was just to make sure everyone knew they were selling well and they were top dog.

I really like Phil Harrison. Seems like a down to earth and genuine sort of guy. You can also tell he loves what he does and he knows what he's talking about. I like the direction Sony are moving in with the Home system too. Its original, innovative and very interactive. All the ingredients to make it very successful IMO.
