I'm genuinely confused and curious - what's the "SJW" part?
I'm the editor, not reviewer but Matt felt that it was so strongly entrenched in that old genre, doing everything fantastically as you say but, well, typically. That's perfectly fine, we don't get enough dense RPGs, I'll take something supremely competent over an innovative gamble.
Like with the last one I did on Nintendo, I didn't know any of this background stuff. But after reading dozens of interviews and old articles from when it all went down, the craziness the executives did was more interesting that the amazing and triumphant things the engineers did. I could definitely write a more positive story if I followed those guys. But if you follow the CEOs it's a shitshow.
Hmmm....I really don't. I see some animus towards crass consumerism, and a lot towards mindless clicker games that don't add anything meaningful to anything.
