@Reckless
My guess is that you're wrong on price. For some time the PS3 was the cheapest Blu-Ray player money could buy. I predict that history will repeat itself. The PS4K will supersede the current model and pricing will stay the same.
Not of interest to me in any case as there will no doubt be a PS5 before I'm ready to replace my display or my non-HDMI 2.0 receiver.
@darthv72, I believe the sub-$200 players upscale normal blu-ray disks to 4K. The players I've seen that play the 4K disks have been $400+ range, and the last time I checked they were not immediately available.
My best guess is that the PS4K's upgrades will be limited to media playback capabilities. The hope being that it can do for 4K what the PS3 did for Blu-Ray, and what the PS2 did for DVD before that.
@Vhamphir
Joel is a favorite of mine as well (though I think Ellie stole the show in TLOU). I also like Walter White, Don Draper, Mr. White, etc.. There is something to be said for a good anti-hero.
@barb
There is zero chance of a meaningful promotional campaign next year for the PS4 release. There was virtually no mass-market promotion for the game when it was new. Don't expect to see it when it's a year old.
Wow, this is shocking. Obviously it wasn't going to move huge numbers due to platform exclusivity, but I thought that it would do well on XBox. Even relative to other XBox games it's a sales dud and it's already bargain bin priced (I'm going by Amazon's best sellers list).
I'm sure that it's a great game...
edit: Disregard the bargain bin remark. I see that a lot of recent releases are already marked down to what I typically pay f...
The multiplayer is awesome. They made a huge mistake releasing the game on the same day as a new CoD and a new Battlefield came out (assuming most PS4 launch buyers passed on the PS3/360 versions which were out a few weeks earlier). It plays really well and I like how player progression works. It would have made a great counterpoint to Titanfall as a March release.
Um....OK.
I think that they need to go back and reconsider the fact that they are sitting on an Uncharted game that a vast majority of the fanbase hasn't touched.
Not a bad deal if you like the esthetics, are into CoD, and will be content with 1TB.
Thanks for clearing that up. I had read about House's original comment, but not about the subsequent clarification. A bubble for your trouble, good sir.
(I still want a GA port, no matter what the graphical fidelity is.)
Please, please, please let there be a Golden Abyss port. It just makes so much sense, especially with Vita being relegated to "Legacy" status.
I too think that these games are worth double-platinuming. I'll probably pick this up, though I'm still disappointed that a Golden Abyss port is not a part of the package.
I loved that part as well. I tried every way I could think of to get her in the pool. Pushing, grenades, etc.. No luck.
I'm not too far into it, but playback of early cutscenes has been choppy. Gameplay is fine. I haven't downloaded the update though. Maybe that helps.
Disagrees for asking a simple question. Gotta love n4g.
BC would be a nice quality of life addition for sure. I completely get why long-time XBox users are excited about this feature. It would be great to pack up the PS3 and the Dualshock 3s once and for all, play my whole PS library on one machine, and free up space and an HDMI input on my receiver for something else (maybe even an XB1). A few more remasters (Red Dead Redemption comes to mind), and I will most likely stop caring about this completely.
I thought the multiplayer was great. I did not give it much of a chance though as it launched on the same day as the PS4 version of BF4, and that's what my friends were all playing. I would imagine that many others gave it a pass for CoD.
Hoping for more games in this series. Ideally not as October/November releases.
I imported this one and got a US power cord when I gave up on the possibility of Sony selling it here:

The fact that it never saw a wider release and the doubling of the UK price suggests that it has been discontinued. It's a shame.
May be that it's time to rethink my stance regarding PS4 wheel purchase. Really wish that Sony had taken the same open approach to wheel compatibility that they did with the PS3.
No surprise here. No different than the PvZ: Garden Warfare PS4 release. Rise of the Tomb Raider's eventual PS4 release will play out in the same manner.
It's a shame that it's just the junky 3rd party stuff available still. It's well worth importing the Sony charging station from Amazon.co.uk and buying the US spec cable separately.
My thoughts, exactly. I've been a fan since Tomb Raider 2. Going to buy this one used as a matter of principle.
