Well, just 30 days ago a "lost world" was discovered with over 40 new kinds of animal/plant species. So no, everything on this planet isn't known. There are many things on this planet that are undiscovered yet, not to mention how vast space is and other planets, solar systems.

I don't understand why they couldn't have just made the boxes with some transparency. The huge white/grey strip just looks so tacky and doesn't fit with the rest of the XMB.
the ticker is useless as well...everything in that ticker should be in the whats new section anyway.

well they could have just made an option to change the text color if that was the case. They didn't need to make it look like a pile of crap.
If it is for something in the future, why not impliment the boxes when there was something to put in them?

I am still at work, so I haven't hooked it up yet. I am almost positive however that it does NOT come loaded with 3.0. There is a "welcome" Blu Ray disc that is included in the box, but again haven't seen what is on it.
That is one thing the original launch should have come with, a Blu Ray disc that outlined everthing the PS3 can do. Almost like an interactive instruction manual. Hopefully this disc will be something like that. It's almost like a 2nd launching for th...
I just picked up my 2nd PS3 (slim) over lunch today. I have to say, it looks much nicer in person. I got it from Best Buy and there were only two on the shelf...but I bet they had more in back.
At the front of the store they had about 5 Uncharted bundles, so I think they were trying to get rid of those first.
Can't wait to introduce my new slim to his older, fatter, meaner brother!
I hope it was intentional but it could very well be a mistake.
For a recent example, in Wolverine there was a section where you had to cut a black guys hand off and use it to open a door. When you got to the door and used the hand, it was white!
Man, not until I read your comment did I even think of that. a PS3 system being ONLY $50 more than a Wii. That really is insane for everything you get out of the box. Amazing!
I think it is a great application and the potential is overwhelming, but it just takes too long to load and roam around in home. If it was more integrated and connected faster, I would be more inclined to click on the icon. Normally I scroll over to it in the XMB, think about it for a second, then realize that I don't want to wait for all the loading.
