It plays and drives just like the Ferrari Challenge (also by System3).
pick this game up. The demo was pretty fun and this review pushes me over the fence.
I'm pretty sure I'll hang on to my PS2 copies though.
The site looks great
At least Jeff Rubenstein was nice enough to reply to me on twitter last night and let us know it would be today. They should have said something on the PS Blog.
when I am the actual source of the twitter feed?
Twitter is a really useful tool to talk to people.
Would that be a bad thing?
and I played the game for over an hour. If you are in the NY area, I strongly urge you to go if you can.
and they usually equal crap, but after playing the demo, this game breaks the stereotype.
Maybe it's the fact that it is really based on a comic book and not a movie that makes the difference, but regardless as to why, the game really looks and feels like an enjoyable title.
Wasn't all that great. When the PS3 first came out and only had a handful of titles, playing PS2 games was a great way to pass the time when you got tired of the launch titles.
Now that there are more than enough PS3 games to keep you busy, what PS2 games can compare? The graphics for all PS2 games suck on my HDTV and aren't worth the replay value to pop them in my PS3.
Who really needs BC with a PS3?
So without even playing Shift or Forza 3, you are already assuming that Forza 3 is the better game.
Can I borrow your time machine so that I can play both games side by side and form an educated opinion like yours? LOL
I will save my opinions on Forza 3 until I actually get a chance to play the game. As for Shift, I have already played it for over an hour and I can honestly say the game is one of the best driving games to date.
There is definitely some serious overlap with NFS:S
It really felt like an arcadey game when the settings were on Casual, but then it was sim like when set to Pro.
The Normal setting felt pretty good, but Experienced was where I ended up.
felt a little more arcadey to me versus a more technical game such as Gran Turismo.
Where as Shift did a great job of mixing it up so you didn't feel like you needed the skills of Mario Andretti in order to actually compete in the game. If you do have those skills though, the game is also for you because you can turn up the difficulty and it's then a very technical game.
and I have spent more than hour playing Need for Speed: Shift.
Shift wins hands down.
and very rarely, if ever, play PS2 games anymore. At first, my options were few, but now that my library has grown to 50+ PS3 games, the PS2 games just gather dust.
Nice find dude!
I would have bought the game for sure if they had.
I've been playing the game since it launched and have already retired as the G.O.A.T.
Buttons are not needed. Just learn the TPC and the game is easy.
and a pack of wet-naps
:-)
