"EA have a terrible track record of shutting down studios that don't meet their astronomical sales expectations."

That implies otherwise. Your degradation of the studio into a mobile focus studio or rather some part of it is some what of a possibility, I'll admit.

Let's stop with the hyperbole. EA is not shutting down Dice if BFV under performs. They will still make the money back and then some.

"Most ambitious" God I hate that statement now.

When are they releasing the patch that gives you side quests that aren't blatant fetch quests?

Don't think the settings will get their games out of extream mediocrity.

GTA's gameplay is basic and serviceable, it's the world that's the major focus of those games. Red Dead Redemption is my favourite open world game ever but not because of it's gameplay. Anthem is an RPG with multiple classes, probably sub classes, unique spells/skills trees and gear. The game is a big emphasis, and if all it does is have the person stand around and lock on, then yeah it's not a game for me. Plus my love for Red Dead Redemption comes from it's single pl...

Aim and lock onto enemies "OH MY GOD BEST GAME EVER" this is a game for a casual crowd. More funds spent on making the game look like eye candy than in actual engaging gameplay. That's why I think it'll sell really well.

Hopefully a new mad max game!

They're not RPGs, they're "RPGs".

After I lost 20 hours of progression in the Tomb Raider on the Windows store. You guys are never getting my money.

I've all but lost my faith in EA, and they have lost my money for the rest of time. Last EA title I bought in a long time was Titan Fall 2, because the game actually brought something different and the online experience was just so much fun. Now that EA purchased respawn, I'm not getting titan fall 3, because I don't want my money to go to EA. The only way they can redeem themselves in my eye is if they release dead space 4.

"DETROIT: BEYOND HUMAN" Come on guys why can't we get this simple thing right? It's not Beyond Human it's become human.

Fair enough. I'm glad we could have this discussion on Horizon zero dawn, and you've given me some interesting points to think about. Usually when I try to voice my concern about the quest structure or the writing in the game I got drowned out by disagrees, which is fine. But the feedback was "You don't know what you're talking about, these panelists are pros so their opinion is worth more than you" basically using the argument of authority instead of addressing my p...

I did finished almost all of the side stuff. And I agree with you that the couldarns we're pretty interesting and offered back story to the world. But I don't think you got what I meant by "what set them apart". It's okay if the overarching narrative is that all the tribes have no idea what they're fight for but there need to be individual elements that set the tribes apart, and I for the life of me couldn't tell you what they were. I'm no casual gamer, I usu...

I disagree. Almost none of the quests felt like they were an extension to the main game, they just felt like side content for the sake of being side content. Almost all the missions boiled down to going to a place and then scanning stuff. Where as in God of war the story is so simple, it's so well paced. The side content adds to the world, it gives it body, If you were to go through the main quest you would miss out on a lot of lore that only the side content will give you. I never cared ...

Actually I really don't think it does. And this is coming from a guy who hates open world games. It's one of the things I hated about Horizon Zero Dawn. That being said, the openness of God of war doesn't hurt it's story or narrative (it's not an open world game). What I hate about most open world game is that they always have this grand plot that has a lot of characters and a lot of sub plots going on at the same time, which isn't bad but it's a thing almost every...

Yeah no, it's a little bit too late. It's not like you guys genuinely believed that having micro transactions in the game was a "player choice", I refuse to believe that a single person working there or a suit actually believed that.

But the candy in this analogy is sugar free candy that almost no one wants. Sea of thieves didn't bomb, it did well, but it's no where near the quality of what the competition is releasing on an annual and sometimes monthly basis. And now we're getting state of decay 2, which I will admit that it looks cool. But people are craving for games like god of war, horizon zero dawn (although I'm not a big fan of horizon zero dawn) and uncharted etc. Xbox just doesn't have that.

LOL, no. No on sooooo many levels. Marvel makes some of the blandest movies ever with the exception of a few movies. We already get enough bland games from Ubisoft we don't need another studio pumping out games that do nothing but leave a bland taste in my mouth. They have a ton of unique characters they can use to make all different sorts of games. They should give licences for their characters to trusted third party studios like they did with Insomniac.
