See, you're the perfect consumer in the eyes of companies. You turn on your fellow gamers and actually defend day one DLC by saying things like, "You don't deserve access to content developed PRIOR to a game's launch." That's maniacal. Seriously, let's apply your logic to movies.
I go to the cinema to watch a movie and the seller asks me, "Did you pre-order a ticket to this movie?" I say, "No I didn't" and he replies, &quo...
Oh is that so? I guess that explains why Batman: Arkham Knight is one of the highest pre-ordered games in the US. I guess that explains why the announcement video for this Batman: Arkham Knight retailer exclusive DLC has 95% likes. I guess that explains why this game is making lists for the most anticipated games of 2015 despite the DLC practices on display. I guess we'll have to just differ on what we consider to be "plenty of people."
Well the purpose of the article was to draw attention to this sort of conduct in general, particularly when it comes to WB Games. However, the reason why I elected to discuss Arkham Knight specifically is because of the retailer exclusive DLC. Day one DLC is always bad but the fact that you MUST pre-order Batman: Arkham Knight from GameStop in order to get the Red Hood story DLC is absurd.
Also, I defined whom I was referring to as hypocrites. I definitely wasn't referrin...
Let's go back in time, shall we? Prior to last year's February Direct, Nintendo stated they were focusing on their Spring line-up for 2014. However, Nintendo still showed gameplay for holiday 2014 titles such as Bayonetta 2 and they announced Little Mac for Smash, a game that released in November, not Spring. They even revealed new gameplay for Xenoblade Chronicles X, a game that still isn't out yet. None of those titles were Spring releases, yet they were still focused on to some...
I definitely understand what you're saying and it's a standpoint I respect. You're aware of these issues and are acknowledging them, but choosing to invest in the title anyway because of other aspects of the game's design that appeal to you. That in my eyes is fine and dandy.
Yeah I definitely agree that in this article I went a bit overboard. Usually my opinion pieces are extracted from scripts I write for my videos and when I put them on my website, I usually skim back through the article and remove a large number of the swears. I've done this with all my articles in the past, but this time I just didn't and I admit that was sloppy on my behalf. I'm definitely going to triple check my opinion pieces for cursing much more moving forward.
For those of you who weren't particularly fond of my rather colorful language which I can wholeheartedly admit I probably pushed too far in this article, understand that it's just my style. It's a fairly crude style relative to many other writers in gaming media, but I use it to differentiate myself, even if in results in me alienating a few people. I generally don't use swear words in articles as liberally as I chose to this time so hopefully this won't paint too negative...
Well it is called an opinion piece for a reason. It's about my opinion and that's labelled very clearly alongside the article. News is objective. Opinion pieces aren't and I know people like you will do whatevery ou can to try and spin what I say against me in ways that do not work because so many people have just covered their ears and not actually listened to what I've said.
My articles got approved and thus far, people have been using points I never made ag...
So when I write and try to submit an article that's actually critical of the PS4, it doesn't get approved, but an article that completely sensationalized the PS4 goes up, no issues.
You still don't get it. Whether or not the game is exclusive is a BIG part of the issue. It matters a lot, especially to someone like me who owns a PC that trumps any console.
When people say the PS4 has no games, they're referring to exclusive games, because people buy platforms for games they can't access on other systems. What other reason is there to buy a console? When you bought a PS3, it was to play games not available on the PS2 and so and so forth.
For some reason, I can't reply to your previous comment, so I'll just reply here.
When you say more exclusives, what criteria are you using? If you're including "console exclusive" games that are available on PC, which I think is your criteria, those do not count to me. If a game is available to purchase on PC, it's not an exclusive title. I applied this logic to both consoles and in my article. Doing so basically negated a lot of the "exclusive...
Well the points of each article were to discuss the MAJOR issue for each respective platform, at least in my eyes as well as avoiding discussing the exact same issue in both articles. For me personally, the biggest problem with the Xbox One is using the box, which is why I focused heavily on that in the article. I'm sure I did mention earlier on that the Xbox One had the same issue as the PS4 in that there weren't enough exclusives. I just didn't go into further detail about that ...
Guess this guy hasn't played "The Slaughtering Grounds" or "The War Z" if he genuinely believes Dying Light is the worst zombie game ever made.
