Nintendo Wii > PS3 + Xbox 360.
PS3 =about= Xbox 360 year-to-year basis.
Wii -> Motion controls
[Flash forward 4-5 years] Xbox 360 + PS3 -> Motion Controls

The Xbox 360 is going anywhere? I mean, even if Kinect fails people act the 360 is gonna all of a sudden stop selling. The 360 has had a steady last 5 years and it's going to stay that was as the generation continues. The PS3 had a slow start but now its up to pace with the 360 and outselling it in some territories, while the 360 outsells it in others.
People aren't going to abandon the 360, simply because

But wouldn't the depth perception remain the same? I'm still trying to see what 3D has over HD in "competitive edge". They both seem to be on par.
you're not actually in the gameplay, it's the screen playing tricks on your eyes making it appear to be displaying in 3D. I don't know, that's my viewpoint on it.
