PS3 fanboys don't care about people paying for Live, it's simply something that they can be weasle about. Just like the dead and gone rrod, it's just the dead horse they beat when they are getting their ass owned.
Just think, if Sony fired all of the "Sony Defense Force" viral marketing employee's on this site, they could probably cut the price of the PS3.
I'm not paying $399 for a ps3, it's not worth it to me. I don't have an hdtv or wireless internet, and I would be stupid to give that much for one. I might get one when it gets to $199-$149, or when I think the ps3 has enough good games to warrant throwing away money on hardware that I neither want or need.

lol That is the straw graspingest, lamest acts of fanboyism that I have ever seen in my whole life. It costs $199+tax to play 360 games, it costs $399+tax to play ps3 games. I don't use wireless, is Sony going to mail me a check for $100, and I don't have an hdtv, are they going to mail me $200 for the blu-ray player that I don't need?
but probaly true. First it was CD, then DVD, and now blu-ray. Bad thing is that the PS4 will probably be $999 at launch since the ps3 was $599.
They had a display at Best Buy with one tv running DVD and one running blu-ray. I could barely tell a difference. There certainly wasn't enough difference to make me want a blu-ray player.
edit- I don't know. They were running on Bravia's, that's all I know.
It's not like blu-ray's image quality is much better than DVD anyway. It might get some use in down the road as physical storage for PC's.
This game gives me vertigo. Playing "Tomb Raider" in first person doesn't agree with me.

$499 is just too expensive. If Sony wants to compete they atleast need a $299 sku. Otherwise it will be all about the Xbox 360 and Wii in the U.S. this Christmas.

But an internet browser on a console is virtually worthless. If someone is buying a console to browse the internet, that means they probably can't afford a PC let along $50 a month for broadband. Online console gamers would have probably been more appreciative of a lower price on the console, instead of worthless features that is more about PR fluff than actually being used.

The 360 no longer has a red ring epidemic. The only reason that you still hear about it is because that's the only ammunition ps3 fanboys have to cling to.
I think L4D looks fun, and I'll be getting it. But I think Fable 2 will be this years GOTY.
