Very well said.
I never really thought too much about the limitations in these sort of games. As the author points out, there has to be some form of structure in games. Will we ever see a game that truly lets you do whatever you want?
I'm really impressed with the visuals on this game. I'm looking forward to making Cole evil again >:D
So they "sell out" and receive a new shipment on the EXACT SAME DAY. I know that there are tricks to try and increase demand, but man these guys are really going all out.
... how can we expect them to say anything otherwise? Of course they're going to promote this product and try to make money while they can. They're not gonna say "Well, it's not 100% guaranteed to work, so buy at your own risk". They're gonna sucker in as many people as possible before Sony drops the hammer.
...but that video was whack, and now I'm gonna have to bust on it:

Can't wait to play it.
It's really a tough position to be in for the developers. But I understand buying used games is the best option for alot of people. There are so many games that I don't get to play until after a year or two simply because my budget doesn't allow me to purchase $60 games that often. So I buy the ones that are 'must-have' and just wait for the others to become affordable/used games. Quite the predicament.
Im not 100% sure, but didn't someone at Bioware say that 'JRPGs lack progression & innovation' and that they deliver the same experience over & over. Maybe this is just in response to that.
No one is even talking about Halo. I agree with you that KZ3 is ahead of Halo graphically, but you can't deny the impact that Halo has had in the industry. We need to stop all this cross-platform hating and just enjoy the games we have. Lets do away with fanboyism. We are all GAMERS.
We are so close to having photo-realistic graphics on many of the games we see today. First MGS4, then KZ2 & UC2, now KZ3 & GT5. If this game showed me nothing more until its release, I would still buy it DAY 1.
On a side note: anyone else think the guy in the video is playing like a total newb?
I wouldn't say the PS3 version is unplayable, but the 360 version did have a better framerate throughout. Hopefully ME2 wont have that issue.
Except 360 & PC dont have a Triangle button (as seen in driveway screenshot).
My interest is renewed. Sorry we doubted & called you lazy 2K ;)
Sony should have more stringent requirements for games being released on their platform, but you really can't blame the hardware. Devs just took the easy route. Shame.
I know what will be sick though: Elder Scrolls V on RAGE engine! You heard it here first!
/dream
WTH happened to The Agency anyway? I was kinda lookin forward to it...
It's amazing how qucikly these threads just spiral out of control. Look, there are plenty of great FPS games out there that all offer unique experiences. There's no need for dick measuring. Just enjoy the games you've got and stop trashing the ones you don't. Or as Conan O'Brien would say: "Be cool babies"...
But I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. The game looks nice, but it's nowhere near Killzone 3 graphically.
I agree. I loved the Castlevania games growing up and this game has peaked my interest. However, recent installments have been pretty 'meh' as of late so I remain skeptical about this title. If Kojima's team can just take the Symphony of the Night formula and bring it up to today's graphical and gameplay standards, we may see the rebirth of the franchise.
