Forza is and will always be a poor man's Gran Turismo. Its for kids. GT is for enthusiasts, people who love the thrill of real driving.
Inferior mechanics. Less detail. No 'rush' you get from pulling off a great maneuver, tweaking your ride, the detail is overwhelming.
Look at the development cycle for Forza vs GT.
Forza 2, Forza 3, now Forza 4? And that's supposed to equal GT in quality which took over five years.

floaty controls is one thing
but add to that the pure joy you feel every time your brain is arbitrarily fried by an utterly useless character--who is supposed to be a progtagonist--and what you have is hubris. This game deserved what it got for brutal design.
