Proven? By who? By Game Sales? CoD was successful because it has a giant publisher that pushed marketing for the game. CoD is successful because it's easy for kids and it's the 'cool' thing to play if you don't know much about games. CoD is successful because it gets hyped up way too much. There are plenty of good games that aren't popular, overrated and shitty.
Totally agree. I didn't think anyone else played that game. It was one of my first FPS games, and even though a lot of reviewers said it was meh, I think it was brilliant. Funny humor, Fun multiplayer, unique weapons.
And I repeat.

I agree with everything you said, but I think Daggerfall was better than Morrowind. Both were better than Oblivion though.
Shitty fucking list. Bioshock better than System Shock 2!? NO WAY! Oblivion better than Daggerfall!? NO! 007 is arguable but this is a terrible list. Only thing I can agree with is Silent Hill 2.
Pretty much any game allows you to kill somebody, and you always get away with it.
It wasn't as casual as the newer CoDs but it was still casual. Look at SOCOM II or Enemy Territory (which both came out the same year as CoD1). Or older games like Quake, UT, CS 1.6, Tribes. No CoD game is harcdcore.
