If you're going with trigger controls, definitely start on reversed. Other than that try the stick controls, but the key is fine adjustments. I sitll can't beat some of the pro times on the leaderboard though :(
I don't think it's a hard game exactly, but the controls are just something to learn. Once you get it down all you need to do is fly around getting medals, and actually playing four player local which is rad.
Reversed triggers is where it's at, because you use the left to actually turn left and right to turn right.
Gots to man up, need to have more competition on the leaderboards! A trick I've found with the trigger controls is actually holding both down and only releasing either one for just a second so you only turn slightly. That way you can do little fine movements and angle up turns easily. Never try to just hold down one trigger by itself because it'll just spin. Just be subtle and calm and you'll be doing all that crazy stuff you see on the video.
I have to agree with this, as I have with most Halfbrick releases. This is probably the best indie game out and definitely worth 3 bucks. The controls do take some practice like that developer guide says, but hot damn boosting along walls is fun. Once you get it down it's pro addictive time setting FTW!
16 way d-pad isn't necessary, just a d-pad where you can actually tell which direction you are pressing. Unlike the 360 one.
I love Nintendo's d-pads, but the surrounding controllers aren't quite suitable for fighting games.
Slightly understandable - MVC2 was hard to pick out for a newbie amongst the gazillion iterations of Street Fighter that were coming out around that time. I do vividly remember MVC2 though, which i guess is a testament to how good it was. Of course, 360 controls suck for fighting games to the point of them almsot being broken. Need an arcade stick.
Out of curiosity, does anyone know if you can control regular games with arcade sticks? I remember playing various platformers in th...
I'm exactly the same way. Can't bring myself to buy DVDs anymore now that I have my PS3 :)
And I sold this brand new Blu-ray player I won just because the PS3 works fine. Stats make sense.
Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Old, sweet fighting game (reminds me of classic Ken v. Wolverine battles), but XBLA is getting way better with the original games, so there's not nearly as much need for ports. Out of all the high ranking games on XBLA, Braid and Castle Crashers are among the best, both original. Hoopefully Raskulls is 2009's equivalent.
I was waiting for this game ever since I started reading those character profiles. Instead of going down to the local EB or something to check new games, it's far more fun to check the newest available XBLA games. Raskulls is right at the top of the radar, same with Trials HD and Shadow Complex (all new games unlike MVC2). Nice interview!
I really don't need much of an improvement over COD4 for me to enjoy this game. Just make the single player campaign a few hours longer and add in new multiplayer maps and I will be sweet.
I agree right here. Been waiting and waiting for news, at least it's confirmed. Professor Layton is the best game on the DS.
I really don't mind the Wii system menu as it is. Simple and effective, and moving things around menually is pretty fun.
So just because a series of games is being released on Xbox instead of PSN, it's a "PixelJunk wannabe"? The fact that there's multiple titles coming out is enough for you to start your fanboy rantings about how any PSN series is automatically better than anything else ever?
Ah, good that you included XBLA games. I swear I'v eplayed those for just amount as much time as boxed games. A great list overall!
