Well not entirely. I am a fan of the series (of the first 2 games at least) and I hated 4... I'm not just going to blindly buy a Gears Game because of "brand" if I don't like what I'm seeing...
Sometimes I hate what I'm seeing, or I even don't care about the franchise but the reviews are REALLY good, so I check it out (That was the case with God of War 2018)

You should, if you like what you see. It could be the worst game ever made, and you could still like it. The job of a journalist is to review it, according to their standards, but in the end is just an opinion.

I prefer to see NPCs and other people's reaction on how cool I look, than full immersion... who wants full immersion in a videogame?!!!
And is not the same seeing how amazed they are about your coolness from the FP perspective, because you are not being constantly reminded on how cool you look by looking yourself at your character 100% of the time, and saying "oh man, I look so awesome"... like you do in a TPP
