Not sure TBH. I didn't even have a gaming rig at the time of COD4's release.
It takes me like 10 minutes just to get into a match of MW2 on PC and that typically has more players than Blops on PC. Current Steam Stats:
MW2 27,788 players online
Blops 22,375 players online
MW1 894 players online
I was just playing on PS3 and there were 478,000

I can't see it mattering for too long. 1st of all because all 3rd party games will go to all systems anyway and 2nd, I'm sure by the time this releases both MS and Sony will have announced new consoles or will be on the verge anyway.

MW3 already has double the preorders and supposed to be on track to beat out Blops. Any online game store you look at has MW3 has most preorderd/most anticipated so it's a safe bet to say COD will be the best selling game this year yet again.

Meh. Black Ops has dedicated servers already on PC. If I decide to buy it this time around it will be on PS3 though. I still enjoy a MW2 match every now and again but it takes like 10 minutes to even get into a match on PC because no one really plays it. PS3 has a couple hundred thousand daily at any one time.
I already purchased RE5 on Steam some time ago but man it really sucks trying to play that game without a controller which I don't have. Honestly the little I played of the game I didn't really like. Just give me RE 1-3 HD remakes.

Pretty sure most people don't buy a PS3 because it has cell processor but more so for the games...you know the ones that AREN'T on PC.
You would think they would do this but I doubt it. They'd rather everyone just buy an xbox.
