If the major players botch or delay for too long the next generation of consumer consoles, it could really pay off for pc's.

The trump card of the consumer consoles, ease of use and entry price, has been devoured by the mobile/tablet market. They will be trading on brand loyalty and gimmicks.

Who is going to sit at home to play casual mobile games...

I remember back when counterstrike and day of defeat were updated regularly with new maps and content, or just new things the mod developers wanted to try out.

After they were bought up by valve and CS source was released, it is a 'dead' game, along with day of defeat, just in stasis with no new updates or changes.

A home console to play casual indie games.

Actually, my friend tried this game. It's like staring at a stock ticker while managing spreadsheets. It's just numbers.

The Japanese console market is small, and getting smaller, compared to NA. The money is still here in America.

dude, really, you had to puke out the whole kiddie-console PC master race thing? Can there ever be a valve article without this?

And I own a 360 and a gaming PC.. so I must not exist...

Actually, no, most of the adult world is not anything like 'gaming'. Go to a focus group on yachting equipment, ride along with an oil exploration team, or attend a Martha Stewart taping.

You will see that most adults do not carry themselves in the manner of gamers. They behave rationally, disagree politely, compromise, explain themselves, admit their mistakes, and consider the good of the group.

This A grade fighter is too esoteric and niche appeal to be released outside japan.

Life is sexist. Biology is sexist. Corporate America is sexist. Movies are sexist. Deal with it.

This focus on 'pro' stuff in games like SC2 and DOTA 2 is really tedious.

I'm real sorry if this has been pointed out, but the sequences look exactly the same as the e3 demo, except for the ending... and he's supposed to be playing it live on the show? It's not scripted but it's pretty damn close, like endless QTE's where you have some level of input.

I remember walking into the arcade at Disney world when i was a kid and playing Mortal Kombat.. with the blood turned off. that about sums it up.

Sorry but this would be stupid... it would be funny for thirty minutes then I'd never play it again. rather they just release mod tools, then some shut in can bring us wonderful useless dino mode.

Everything in a consumer society is based on sex. Everything. that is how you sell people things, and its not obvious. How the &$%^&$% do you think they sell harley davidsons to middle aged men who will never ride them? Why do grown women pay hundreds of dollars for facial moisturizers that do absolutely NOTHING?

this is why its hard to envision China ruling the world.

You walk into a building. you go up a ladder. you sneak up behind an enemy and strangle him. you shoot enemies behind cover as they pop out. scripted sequences interspersed.

the halo effect isn't just a game. it's a cognitive problem.

this is why you will never see mod tools for BF3. they can make more money selling small doses of content than letting us make our own.

Anything involving tits gets a hundred comments. And the site that posted this is one of the worst cut & paste ad bait I've seen in a while.
