I don't think they will be making a WiiHD, the SKU they currently have available will remain and print money as long as it can. They will most likely bring something new to the table.
I know backward compatibility might be an issue and they might have motion sense in the new console but the them of the new console most likely won't be family and casual, they got that down with the wii and they proved they can sell water to fish.

would like to add, if you're a fan of the series then by all means you don't need Famitsu to tell you it's worth buying with 9/9/9/9.
If I was interested in the series I would jump on it like flies on shyt but it's not my genre for the DS, I like turn base JRPGs but I will give it a rental.

Next big move SW , FFXIII (this is the last big SW)
Next Big boost , PSP price cut
Next major ,PSP2 (handheld war refresh and starts over) for a 2010 release. This is purely speculation ...
LTD sales... maybe 500k units by next year. I see this as a holiday item.

Sony is supposed to be getting a profit from the ps2 which is supposed to off set the lost from ps3, but I think it's not helping that much since the ps2 sales have gone down like a rock in a pound.
Famitsu came out with the wii on top of the ps3 and the post were a blaze on this site with " I'll wait for MC number" in the hopes the numbers might be wrong. Now MC numbers are out, and not even one word about the wii>ps3... It's ps2>360 , or ps3>360.

those statistics will be very hard to accept knowing there are 20% of an entire population that owns one. Only way I can see solid numbers of who owns one. Would be if the owner would have to enter the date/region/age of the owner and the data is sent to Nintendo via wifi.
