I agree, literally did the same. Planned on getting R3, then was unimpressed with the beta and as you said a general over saturated FPS market. Dead Island with its 30+ hr co-op story ( granted split screen would have been much appreciated). I realize they are small in scope so more copies the better, but this game has really hit the spot with a few buddies joining in. Solid title.
While Reach will probably be a great game, it set new marks in nothing. Frankly, It's pretty lame that most of these reviews have given high marks especially in graphics where Reach is just breaking above average. Other than that, presentation, sound, etc are great. Unfortunately, lag is going to be so varied from location to location. In Russia, IW has really taken care of us with smooth servers. Maybe you aren't having as much luck as us.
