MS will make money with this game since it went under the radar and its hard to find so people who want to play with repurchase it via digital download.
This is exactly what I have been trying to tell people.
I have mad respect for PD and consider them to be the fathers of the race sim genre but I think that they just aren't the same anymore and after GT3 they got complacent and lost passion for the genre.
Sony needs to give that studio and over haul and bring in some new blood.
PD is just too slow with development of GT games that by time they are ready to release or near completion the competition has out did them and moved on to the next step of sim evolution.
Its almost safe to say that PD is no where near the talent that they were since GT3.
They need new blood and I am glad that they hired one of the sound guys from the Forza team which is a start in the right direction.
ND are awesome... Sony are lucky that they found these guys who are passionate aboit video games and committed.
With reputation and fanbase that ND have they could have left and started there own studio but they respect and love Sony that they will forever have a great team.
So this practically a more sugar coated move than what Capcom did with SF5.
The game was GT7 but since GT7 is no where near completion they just took 50% of the game and slapped VR in it and called it GT Sport.
I am all for developers taken time with games but PD is beyond ridiculous and Sony gives then too much preference.

The funny thing is that no one petitioned Capcom for it's $60.00 30% complete game.
God Mars that is something will never know the answer to but from what I read BC is somethimg that MS are really proud of and now that they ha e figured it out, its really not that hard to do and does not cost MS a lot of money to make the games BC with XBox1...they said the hardest part is convincing 3rd party publishers to make the games BC which after the success of of Black ops 3 I think more people will want onboard.

If this was the 360 era I would agree but MS is starting to realize that a lot of money can be made with games that cater to both young and old...MineCraft is bringing in a lot of money for MS, last I heard the 2Billion they paid will be paid off by next year and everything after that is profit.
Also , Nintendo is starting to fall and either MS or Sony need to pick up that soccer mom market.
They need to give us an update on Phantom Dust...alot of gamers including my self got so hyped up about the E3 announcement that it would make me a sad gamer if MS just cans the game.
I think they ate offering it again because its BC now and a lot of people can play it on the XB1.
RDR is because R* will announce the new RDR game and I am sure MS will have marketing right with maybe exclusive DLC.
Battle Mage is broken beyond playable but I think MS wants to show that with a little optimization BC can improve games on a technical level.
