there is no offical ending for a gen. Unless of course you count when all consoles makers have finished producing their console worldwide. Technically the last gen is still alive because ps2 production is still happening.
I think poeple on online gaming sites failed to realise that The amount of poeple playing the xbox,ps2 and gamecube is larger than the amount playing ps3,wii and 360.
