@Jager "So the media is biased against multiplats? Ya.. No. Resident Evil 4 was Multiplat, didn't stop it from getting good reviews."
I was not talking about the media. The average reviews from the media is not bad, it has been between 8's and 9's. I was talking about fanboys bashing multiplat games.
Jager, so why don't you get off the fanboy boat before you type.
Imagine if Killzone 2 was a multiplat game with those controls, everybody w...
Am i missing something ... how many exclusives have come out in the X360 this year (Halo Wars, GTA DC, Race Pro, Star Ocean 4, etc) and how many have come in the PS3 this year (beside Killzone 2 what else)?
My guess is that many more are comming ...
PS... To the stupid person who disagreed with me, can he explain why.... did i miss a exclusive that come out this year for the PS3 beside Killzone 2?
@GoldenBoy ... i sincerely don't understand those numbers you presented from US sales.
"No I don't think they take home more than 20 pounds which would put it at 2/3 of retail price (based on 30 pounds). But that is exactly my point so thanks for proving it"
I presented those 20£ from the 30£ sales based on your numbers on top. You said a developer receives about 2/3 of the sale... 2/3 of 30£ is 20£. SO NO... i don't believe a develo...
Let's take the example of killzone 2 in amazon UK. At the preorders the game cost 29,99£ (now it's 35£).
Out of the 30£ from the preorder...
How much does amazon receive?
How much from the 30£ goes to taxes (or VAT)? It’s 20% or more?
How much go to manufacturing costs of the disks and cases?
How much are the transportation costs?
What about other extra costs? Like publicity, suppliers (or retailers), workers and other thin...
Please don't tell me that you believe that if a game sells at 60$, the developer receives the hole 60$? That only happens in fantasy land. No software company in the world receives the hole 60$ from a game sale.
If Sony (or other software company) receives 20-25$ from each game sold, that's the most, unless it's a digital download like a game from steam, then the developer receives more.
Honestly, 1 million is not that impressive. The game cost 40-50 million dollars to make (this was the reported cost of the game). Let’s say they receive 20 dollars from each game sold, they have to sell at least 2-2,5 million copies to start making money, without counting bundles, because with the PS3-Killzone2 bundle sony does not receive nothing (since the bundle is the same price as the normal ps3). And what about the cost of the publicity the game had.
More then 2.5 million downloaded the demo in the first week. By now probably 4-5 million have downloaded the demo, so i'm pretty sure that people know what they are buying.
Yep... their support for the PSP is sad. They only announce games for the PS3.
Tried the demo of Resistance, but did not like it. It's been having good reviews but i don't like the controls.
They announced LBP and Motorstorm for the PSP (with no release dates), but that is way to little... they have to deliver more games for the PSP.
Have a PSP 3000, so no homebrew for me :( ... sad sad days for my PSP. After their poor support for the PSP, no way in hell ...
