Both machines are capable of running these games at 1080p/60fps, it's just that the games aren't developed to meet those standards. They're most likely rushed to meet demand. Keep in mind that launch titles have historically looked bad in comparison to what can be achieved (in some cases, they look worse than previous gen titles).
This doesn't concern me all that much.
"Development was still difficult. You had to consider the difference in hardware at the time."
It's well known that Nintendo struggled to develop games for HD (hence why many of their 1st party titles got delayed), but claiming development was difficult when the game took 6 months to develop? Is this normal? I'm inclined to think otherwise, but I'm no developer.
Please correct me if I'm off-base.
Alrighty then.
It's important to note that these numbers are based on daily activity. If you look at total sales for 2013, you'll notice that the PS4 is nowhere in the top 100.
We can conclude that yes the PS4 sold out very fast, but there were very few to be sold and not enough to crack the top 100 video game related sales on Amazon Japan.
Still good to see though...
A few quotes from the article:
"We've been mucking around with a poker game where it's sensitive enough to see that you're trying to bluff. It can pick up little glints in people's eyes and things like that."
"That'll be the best online poker game ever, because now you've got the fun back of looking into people's eyes - especially when using an anonymous face,"
"Because of course you can pl...
Come on now, the Wii U has life. It has a fairly supportive market in the US, and you shouldn't count Nintendo out.
Official Nintendo Magazine UK says that 2014 is the year of the Wii U?
Stop the presses.
It's due to the gaming public not knowing they exist. There's a reason why Sony announced indies on stage at E3 and Gamescom, because potential customers were paying attention to those conferences. Exposure is important for a game to get an audience and the Wii U is suffering from a lack of exposure. It's great to see support from Nintendo's part, but it will only succeed if gamers buy them.
I'm also curious as to what constitutes a high profile indie titl...
I'm predicting the PS3 will be around for 3 more years. By then, almost all of those resources will go into PS4 and Vita.
One of the reasons being the cost to develop for the PS3 versus expected sales will top out by 2016/17. That's an understandable length, I mean how many games did the Wii get when the Wii U was on the market for just under a year?
There's bound to be a few people that don't know this.
There are a few reasons as to why this happens. Futurlab, developer of the upcoming Velocity 2X, told GI.biz that putting their game on PS+ was "less about money and more about exposure, especially with a sequel coming."
Publicity is huge for a game to do well on the market, and PS+ does a fair job at promoting games with news updates and deals.
Many people have reason to look forward to this game, but it bothers me that the media is still getting something wrong. Titanfall isn't Xbox One's flagship 2014 exclusive because it's not an exclusive. Exclusive means only available on 1 platform, and it's on 3. Now I know why Microsoft has been pushing this as an exclusive because if you say it enough times, enough people will believe it.
Okay, I've calmed down. Interested to see a release date for this badboy; ...

Little Big Planet (that's how I found Chilled Chaos)
This generation had a lot of crap, but it had quite a few diamonds in the rough.
Does anyone think that lives are an outdated game design? I recall Yahtzee's opinions on the lives system as stated in his Super Mario 3D Land/Rayman Origins review. "Kicking you back an arbitrary amount of gameplay time to fleece quarters that don't exist" and "wasting your time watching your character taking up self harm while being over the head with aggressively cheerful music."
The lives system was important for games in gen 1-4 since they were so sho...
I misread the filename wii_party_u-10 as Mario Party 10.
Which reminds me, a new Mario Party (that isn't like Mario Party 9) would be stellar for the Wii U.
I'm not surprised at the difference between PS3s sold versus 360s sold, despite GTA V selling more on the 360. The GTA V bundle really bumped up sales of PS3s, but it's a huge win for both consoles.
I'm curious how many weeks GTA V will remain #1/#2 respectively in sales. This is crazy.
Since this is Eshop only, I'm concerned that the target audience will mistake this game for Wii Sports or Wii Sports Resort. I mean they still mistake the Wii U as a Wii add-on. I just don't know how this will play out, I'm curious just how many people are interested in this.
The problem is, the casual gamers that this game is targeted towards won't get it. Parents/elderly don't buy games from the e-shop/XBL/PSN, and they'll most likely mistake this for the original Wii Sports.
And $50 to own all 5 minigames? That's an absurd price point. The $2 day demo is alright but it's just that; a demo. I'm very curious to see how this plays out.
Alright, who the fuck disliked this?
The thing is, Wii Sports Club isn't $10.
Each individual game is $10 for "permanent access".
That means that if you want to play all 5 games (bowling, tennis, boxing, baseball, and golf) whenever you want, it will cost you $50.
This is insane.
I just hope they're able to localize their franchises accordingly. It would be a shame if something like Persona 5 remain Japan-only.
I remember Adam Boyes when he was on the Giantbombcast. He's very down to earth and he has this weird tendency to smile a lot when he's on stage or interviewed.
He's an odd one...
