...it's just a design decision. For widescreen format you either have to increase the horizontal fov or reduce the vertical to fit the aspect ratio. In this case they've chosen to reduce the vertical fov.
It's good news that the 5 additional maps are included for free. Had to pay for them on the 360 and most people are too tight to buy them! I've had to remove them from the map rotation as on a number of occasions a 14 player lobby has been suddenly reduced to 4 or 5 when one of the new maps is selected.
My only concern about the PS3 version is headset support, it doesn't mention it in the review. Hopefully, it's fully supported and people who play the game will make sure they h...
If it plays as well as the 360 version then you would be crazy not to buy it. It's great online, my friends and I have been playing it since it was released late last year. My main concern would be headset support as to get the most out of team games you need to be able to communicate with team members. If it's implemented well (i.e. not like Motorstorm's 2-player or F1CE's non-existent support) and the game plays as well as the 360 version then it's a no brainer.
A couple of months ago, I didn't know anyone with a defective 360. On my friends list, 4 of us had a 360 from launch and the other 2 from soon after. Just over a month ago, within the space of a week or two, three of us had hardware failures, one in warranty, two out of warranty (including mine, hence the avatar).
Last weekend another of the launch 360's failed so between my friends and I we currently have a failure rate of 4 out of 6. Not good!
As the problem is...
The statement is wrong. I tried Dead or Alive 2 and MGS 2 (Both original UK release) neither of these worked on 1.70 but now work fine on 1.80. I hadn't expected them to work as no mention of BC improvements had been made in the release notes so I was pleasantly surprised. I think nearly all PS2 games in my collection are now BC whereas a large number of my favorite xbox titles still aren't on the 360 so as far as I'm concerned Sony have done a good job on BC so far.
The usb sockets on the back of the wii are great for charging my ps3 controller and bluetooth headset while on standby. The ps3 ports are not powered when the unit is off.
As for how often I actually turn the wii on, not so much. 360 and ps3 get the most use as I mostly play online. Wii normally only gets turned on if I have visitors.
My friends and I have been waiting for this map pack for a while now but my 360 died last night so looks like I'm going to have to miss out this weekend. Game of Motorstorm anyone?
until last night that is! (Hence the avatar!)
Sony sent emails out last week informing people if they had qualified for the free copy of Casino Royale (at least they did in the UK). Still waiting for mine though!
ASSASSYN 36o - Everyone enjoys a good gadget but they were starting to push things a little far with an invisible car!
I have a 60GB launch PS3 (european) and picked the game up at midnight. Installed fine and played online fine. Last night, I was unable to connect to the online server like many people and occasionally the game paused for a second or two. This sometimes happened when selecting the multiplayer option on the phone so I'm guessing it's pausing as it attempts to connect to the online servers. Anyone else had this?
I have the 360 version also (I have friends on both consoles) and I ...
