I have a phat 500GB and installed 4.45 last night without a problem. I got lucky i guess but feel really bad for the ones that got their console bricked. I hope Sony finds a firmware solution to unbrick those. It would totally suck if they make people pay to have it serviced.
Just noticed now too that the entire PSN is down though. Maybe there is even more going on than just the buggy firmware....

I think you can reset the online status of your drivers by going to your GT5 game prefs and reset the system/network cache (it's at the bottom of your prefs page). Your drivers should be offline after that so you can use them again without having to sign in to PSN. Hope this works for you, i can't verify it right now.
i'll pass on that one. After the last bs Activision/Treyarch pulled with Cod on the ps3 they have lost me for good. Too bad bc i really used to like the franchise a lot and bought almost all titles for multiple platforms. But i will no longer fill their pockets while they treat us like dirt and think they can get away with selling us half assed betas. It's time we speak up to them with our wallets...
What a pathetic attempt of M$ to 'compete' with PS+. Glad my XBL Gold expires tomorrow and i won't renew. These dusty and worthless games are not convincing me to renew and waste more money on XBL. I have used PS+ and XBL Gold side by side for the last couple of years and PS+ have proven to be the most value for the money. Such an half-assed move again from M$, Way too little and way too late. Thank you too M$.... for nothing!
