I remember the days when I had a 256 MB ram on a WinXP system and let me tell you one thing it didn't work flawlessly as I recall, its keeping swallowing memory until you clear cache and then close it or kill it and I keep repeating this after every heavy browsing is done or after keeping it idle for some hours
