CoD4 was only good, because it was the first next generation massively multiplayer game. That's the only reason. If CoD4 were to release now, everyone would hate on it like usual.

Nope, not for me. I've had NO lag so far, and always manage to find a match. Also, my ELITE works perfectly fine, along with Theater mode! :D
Invest in a higher internet speed. :)
Online play hasn't been a problem for me so far, Why should we go on ELITE when we haven't even got stats to show? Play first!! Then go on ELITE!!
For once, CoD has made it easy for me to find robust matches on day one, BF3 failed that and still fails, I still can't find a robust match on that game!

I'm pretty sure the casual CoD players won't be interested in the payed ELITE service, but the more hardcore players will see it as a bargain.
I, my self know the benefits, so I will be purchasing ELITE, as I end up buying all the map packs anyway.
Plus, I really want the extra HD theater mode slots, as I don't have a HD PVR but still want to upload some content to my YouTube channel.

The game is £40, and ELITE is £35. Do the Math.
Plus, that includes ALL the map packs, so if you were planning on buying them all anyway, it's no loss really.
Sainsburys will be selling the game for £27 tomorrow morning, and if you buy 2 £20 PSN cards with MW3, it's only £35, so you get an extra £5 in your PSN account for free. Not sure about XBOX 360. All in all, the whole package is £62. You've just been lawyered. :D ...
Obviously it's worth it, you save £1 here in the UK on all the map packs if you just go with ELITE instead. I buy all the map packs every year anyway, so it's all good for me.
Plus, you get more HD Theater mode slots, which is great if you don't have a PVR.
Also, you get to compete for REAL MONEY. What more do you want?!! For £35, it's a BARGAIN! Even if it was £50, it would be worth it, as you get the map packs which are worth £36 all toget...

I just played MW2 for like 6 hours, after playing it and then watching some MW3 gameplay, I can safely say that the two games are nothing alike. Yes, it used the same CoD engine. But EVERY game out there does that.
..And frankly, all I can say is that, that 'same old' CoD engine, has satisfied me ALOT.

After trying them both out, Call of Duty ELITE Beta simply had MUCH more features. The stats were amazing, I could literally view EVERYTHING.
Battle log is really good as well, but it would be nicer if they had the occasional competitions like ELITE does, the competitions are so fun, and I was just playing for a lousy badge on the Black Ops ELITE Beta, but with MW3, I could actually be playing for real money, which is epic!
Also, HD theater mode is a nice ad...

Huh? It works for me perfectly fine. I've been viewing stats and messing around with the clan feature.
I think you have to download it first on your console, then you can use the website version.
