amazing technical achievement...but i wonder what teh actual use of this would be? I cant see any from a gaming point of view...at least not until technology picks up and is able to do full ray tracing real time (or whatever its called!)
I play crysis with e6600 at 3.01 ghz with 2gb ram, and 8800 GTX OC..and it plays respectably for me at 1680*1050. I get 35 FPS which altho not perfect, is good enough to run this game start to finish. Main place I noticed slow down, was beside the big mountain when the boulders were falling from the top.
(btw I use all settings at high bar shadows and post processing which were at medium)
Well, i played it on the PC, so Im not fussed if It comes out for my ps3 as well...
however, just because a developer is wanting ps3 devs, doesnt mean it will start to bring out its back catalogue on it...(altho moneywise it'd make sense)..
It might jsut be meaning they have plans for other games for the future...

moneywise it would make sense to port it over..even if they have to modify the engine quite a lot, I think it would be worthwhile for them...
even just reducing the textures a bit, and reducing the draw distance...plus some other changes to make it ok with console specs and I think they would have a winner
And altho I love playin it on PC, I would like them to do console as well, for the reason they will make more money, and stay in business!
yeah sorry, forgot to say, i dont just rely on a video comparison, I always go onto sites like metacritic to see what the general consensus is with review scores...and then go into a specific review like IGN or something to see what they say.
as for lag, its even more annoying that if you chose to get one game which say for example didnt look quite as good on one system, but had no lag, that then later the lag issue might be fixed with a patch, but the gfx on other system were ...
well i had a DC when it first came out, but then had to sell it to a relative soon after as I needed teh cash! But a few weeks ago I got it back from her...and I am now going to get through some oldie games I wish i did years ago...

well im still trying to get through ninja gaiden sigma...which isnt supposed to be too hard..but im struggling. Now, im not saying I want it easier, cos im enjoyin the struggle, and it took me a night just to get past a boss, but it felt great when I done it!
But I agree with them adding in an easier option, as the hardcore gamers wont use it, whereas the casual gamer has the choice
I personally like to see these videos...not for the fanboi side in me..but for the reason I actually have a ps3/360/PC so if one looks better, or controls better, or has less lag etc etc then I will get that version...

But in all seriousness, I would rather turn the settings down than go to a lower resolution, as I tried the game at 1280*1024 and it didnt look right at all considering I had just played the game at my other res....
default settings? thats a bit strange...jsut like with the PC they will let you know how it runs on an optimum system...the only reason they let you know how a lower spec PC runs games is due to the fact many folk will have low spec PC's! But with a 360 and ps3, every1 has the same hardware, so therefore they should set the 360 and ps3 settings to optimum!
Else, their comparisons are basically useless...where the game may look better on the 360 or the ps3, when actually it isnt...
I think it might be too early to be seeing crysis 2 pics...I may be wrong though...
as for the comment about money...yeah I dont know how they can stay afloat with teh amont of money crysis would have cost to make, what to consider though is by reusing the engine for 2 more games (albeit with improvements) the games willl be out sooner rather than later, and would have cost far less to make.
Just basically what valve did with half life 2 episodes...reuse same eng...
