It isn't like the Windows OS is becoming more popular and it's not like Microsoft would be more popular if they got rid of Bing and Xbox. If anything, those are both some of the last remaining things I can positively associate with Microsoft. To let either of those go would be a setback for them, I say this even for Bing mainly because of its integration into most of their products.
I settled with the explanation that Solid's voice was Hayter, and that Big Boss should've always been done by someone else. There's no way their vocal chords could've been the exact same.
I agree I think it may indeed have been MS's plan from the drawing board, and that they are in a better position to achieve such, because of their greater resources. I also do think that Sony could easily pull off the same thing.
For the next year at least, it's not something feasible on the scale which they claim it to be. That is my point, it's just too soon to count as a selling point.
I like Microsoft, and I like their product, that's why ...
You've hit the nail on the head. Word of mouth seems to have a lot of weight to it with the teens I work with. I ask them what they're wanting and they say PS4, BECAUSE they heard the Xbox was 'crap' and some still don't know about the policy reversals and such. I forget that there are an awful lot of younger people who aren't really gamers with their own opinions or real preferences, who kind've just buy and play whatever their friends do.
I don&...
I think a good point is hit in this article. While yes, thinking that they could offload to the cloud currently is completely bogus, in a few years it may be more feasible.
I think it's simply too soon for Microsoft to be touting their cloud processing capabilities. It's not feasible now, so don't brag about it till you can actually do it. While yes, it may be something they can do well in the future, they should've focused on the things their console is curr...
Better in what way? They've both got their strong points. These articles are too general. You can't have one machine simply and completely "better" than the other when they're made to cater to different consumers.
The fact that all of these things were said at a preview event kind've takes away from the feeling that they aren't just spewing out PR talk, but what you can take away from it is that 3rd party devs are looking at the unique things about the console, mainly Kinect 2.0, and are thinking of ways they can use it.
Saying, "Voice and gesture controls are not something new", really shows you're missing the difference in what is going on and what's been done before. If every dev knows that Kinect will be featured w/the console, the likelihood that they'll integrate it into their games is much higher. Even if you ignore this (important) factor, you've still got Kinect 2.0's increased ability in motion tracking and voice recognition.
Although DICE didn't d...
In terms of the experience they can offer, yeah. I certainly think the X1 offers up a newer and more immersive experience than the PS4, seeing as the PS4 doesn't really throw anything new into the mix and just refines the same old ways of doing things, and if that's what you wanted and that't the way you like it, it's perfectly fine.
This doesn't surprise me at all, besides pretty graphics, I never thought this game had a lot going for it, especially gameplay wise. The title really does sum up the way I figured it would be.
I'm sorry, but I can't give a lot of credit to anything someone says when they're associated with producing Call of Duty. Seeing what that game has become over the years, I have been led to the conclusion that all things Call of Duty are produced and do exist in a dimension separate from what we call "reality".
There's so much to point out. But that game....*shakes head*.....what the heck. It's absolutely insane that they still sell as many copie...
Your privacy has already been invaded, so quit your moaning. The difference in surveillance with Kinect and without it is minuscule compared to the sum of all the other ways you're already being watched.
The reason that comparing them makes no sense lies in the purposes they aim to serve and the experiences they aim to provide. Sony went about making their machine with very strong focus on it being a gaming machine. On the other hand, while Microsoft did intend to build a machine that can play "next-gen" games, they also wanted a machine that much better fits under the label of an "entertainment system", which is obvious seeing as its resources are spread out much more so ...
Said it before and I'll say it again, comparing the two machines no longer makes any sense.
Comparing the Xbox One and PS4 is no longer a reasonable thing to do. It is no longer a race. Just like Nintendo went in their own direction with the Wii, Microsoft is going in their own direction with the One.
The simple fact is that Microsoft and Sony are aiming for different things entirely. Microsoft should not try and compete with Sony, not because it's a matter of superiority and inferiority, but because they are now two different kinds of devices altogether. The P...
Perhaps I didn't make my opinion clear. I know surveillance is as high as it is. In my opinion, you should look at what's going on now and see it as minuscule in comparison to what will probably be. As this tech progresses, they won't just have data on all the things we are doing, they'll have ways of processing and compiling it so that they can learn an awful lot about us, and then predict our activities. Expect this and accept it. Your private space is your mind and the thou...
I think the exclusives, both at day one and later on, will be excellent demonstrators of what the difference is between a next-gen game and current gen. Differences between sequels that are also exclusives will also pull people off of their old consoles. When a Killzone fan sees the difference between KZ3 and Shadow Fall, they'll want the PS4. When a Halo fan sees the difference between Halo 5 and Halo 4, they'll want the One.
This article went in some weird directions, but I do think we shouldn't be surprised by issues, especially if you're planning on playing online immediately. Especially if you have an Xbox One since we are required to update immediately as well. i wouldn't really be surprised if when I get home, theres some sort of server issue and I have to wait a while to do anything. A given of being day one and forcing an update.
I think, anyone upset needs to calm their breeches, and I think we need to re-think about what is most important to us to keep private. My profile on Live and the things I do and say on there are things I don't mind others seeing. If you do have things that you do and say on PSN or Live that you don't want others to see, then you need to wake up, because 1st: why the heck are you putting things like that on there anyway, 2nd why did you expect privacy to begin with?

I've been waiting for the next generation of consoles for so long that all the reasons anyone ever gives for waiting are trumped. There are a lot of things lacking in current get games, but short draw distance has always been something that especially killed me.
