I've played all the COD games from the very beginning so there was no doubt in my mind I'd be getting Call of Duty: World at War.
from what I've seen in Trailers and such the game looks fun to me.
I have one more thing to add.
For all you folks just echoing each other in saying there are too many WWII shooters, please do a little research before you speak.
If you look there are (in reality) about 2 X's as many modern day shooters than WWII shooters.
Don't ...
Spot on.
I like Unreal Engine but I personally think it was overused this past year to year and a half.
A lot of games looked the same.
I played 100% of the game (1000/1000) and didn't have the first problem.
Sure the controls are a bit wonky but if you give the game a chance you get used to it.
I found the game entertaining.
I.W. makes the even and Treyarch makes the odd (in more ways than one).
That said, I will be buying Call of Duty: World at War.
I have played all the COD games since day 1.
IMO Call of Duty: World at War actually looks good and fun to play.
I'm gonna give them a chance.
On the 360 and quite enjoyed it.
Being a fan of the Godfather probably didn't hurt but I think the game did a fantastic job of filling in the gaps of the movie.
As an example, one of the missions is you have to race across town to put the gun in the bathroom stall because Micheal's meeting location was changed.
Another was dealing with you and the horse head.
Great game, looking forward to the second.
pre-ordered it.
I hardly ever pre-oreder anything but I couldn't do this one quick enough!!

Has been fix.
Get over it and move on.
KingMe, it's easier than you think, you vote with your dollars or lack there of.
If you don't like a business (any business) you don't support them simple as that.
If enough people don't support them they either change their business practice or close their doors.
BTW the small town excuse dosen't fly anymore. We live in the electronic age my friend, all you have to do is order whatever you want online.
Writing nasty curse filled letters won't get you tak...
I was gonna say pretty much the same thing.
You have the power as a free individual not to go there.
I can honestly say that I have never, ever, ever had a GameStop employee stick a gun in my face and tried to make me trade in my older games.
BTW JW You may make your point to GameStop a little better if you take out the cuss words and the I hate you speak.
The Darkness was a cool game.
I didn't get the recognition it should have.
Here's the deal Dev's.
First. You need to make a game worth $60.00 that people "HAVE TO OWN" day one.
Second. You have to make a game with great re-playability.
Third. You have to release good DLC for said game and here is the key, make it free or very, very cheap.
Do that and you'll have no worries about people keeping their games or GameStop/rentals.
I'd like to also add a comment about all the hate of Gamestop...WHY...
But it seems like he is a little full of himself.
Granted BioShock was a great game but it didn't invent/re-invent or resurrect anything.
Shooters were doing fine when BioShock came along and shooters have be doing fine since it's release.
BioShock came along at a time when not many games come out, that is a good part of it's success.
Secondly, it's storyline was different than the normal War/Alien invasion type shooter and that helped with it's su...
but fads usually don't last long.
I totally agree.
just do away with the Arcade version all together.
All MS did with the Arcade is paint themselves and the devs into the corner.
"Despite this, sales of around 4,000 units a week aren't going to cause Sony or Nintendo to lose any sleep."
If you use the base of 4,000 units a week X 52 weeks = 208000 units in a year.
208000 units in a year can creep up on you pretty quick if "ANY" company become complacent.
If I were any company I would worry if my sales were going down as my competition's sales when up.
What I was gonna say.
for now.
Nothing about it looks like a $60.00 game IMO.
If it gets $15.00 - $20.00 range, maybe but there are way too many good games coming out from now to the end of the year to bother with this one.
And I hardly EVER pre-order anything.
