Wow, some of you guys go bonkers when articles like this are posted. The point the author was to bring make is that competition is good for the market.
Because of competition we have access to better services, lower costs, and most importantly; a higher variety of great games. I don't understand why people have to choose sides on this. If you find something that you really enjoy... just enjoy it... and remember that competition is bringing on more innovation.
Wow, I was completely hyped for this game until i read the preview (and watched the walk through). You have to get a job to earn money?... um... what?? Great, just what i wanted to do in a game, mow the lawn and raise a family.
He spent more time talking about raising a family than he did about combat or core game play. What about the magic system? I think Molyneux is off his rocker... again. I'm just hoping that this game is as good as the first one.
I'm not defending the ign guy, but it sounded like he was trying to be funny and it just came out wrong. One of the guys didn't even know who CheapyD is... but yea, that was totally uncalled for.
This is a very well written article, and i have to agree with the author. I mean really, do we really need to have that many buttons. Certain games use them intuitively, but others... "is this the grenade button or the reload button?... D'oh!!"
Timed button press events can compound the problem further. There's not enough time to remember which is which... especially if you're new to the controller. At least sony and microsoft have almost identical controllers.

This poll doesn't really say much. if you take the margin of error to the extremes, then the split is pretty much even for conservatives and liberals. It's good to know that gaming cuts across all ideologies. Conservative or liberal, it doesn't matter, games are fun.
I think that this is a good strategic move for MS. Sony has a huge backlog, but they haven't put it online. Since MS is doing it now, they are going to be ahead of the curve if sony decides to do the same thing. The wii did it first, but emulating a NES game is waayy different than emulating an xbox or ps2 game. This could be an awesome new trend... dreamcast and saturn games anyone? this might give creedence to reviving some old titles, and making sequels.
yep $15 is alo...
Interesting interview, but the mutually redacted spaces were a bit strange... why include the questions if you're going to block out the answer? Good to know that she is connected to the industry, and her thoughts on creativity were interesting, but not much info about her otherwise.
This type of rumor milling is more detrimental than beneficial IMHO. It may build momentum for a title, but revealing a project that's 2 years away (and might be canceled at any time) could hurt ...
This is a common problem with using credit cards and auto renew. You might sign up for a free trial on something... you forget about it, and a year later you've got a charge for something that you didn't even use. Companies will normally refund you for this type of thing...
This lawsuit is retarded. He got the refund from MS, he should take up the overdraft charge with his bank. If they don't budge, pay the fee, and go to a new bank. And oh yea, make his son make up the di...
I watched a documentary (BBC i think) about gaming not to long ago. It was pretty good until they got into the "future" of gaming. They talked about couples meeting on online games and are now married. They also talked about people paying tons of money to have someone level up their character on some MMO. They kindof started to make gamers look like eccentrics that cut themselves of from human contact...
A futuristic themed Jade Empire would be awesome. Let's hope that the rumor is true. I thought that Jade Empire II got canned in favor of Mass Effect, guess not. I hope that Surfer Girl is right :)
I've never gotten motion sickness while playing a game before. I may have just been having a bad day, I'll probably give it another try to see if it happens again...
Giving a game a 11 out of 10 is just stupid. It's ok to think that something is great, but that's just hype building. It calls in to question the journalistic integrity of the author. They're hyping this game just a to sell a few extra magazines, it's a shame.
I test played S.M.G. at gamestop the other day.... i can say that it's the first game to ever make me feel motion sick in under 5 minutes. Um... a perfect game?
Well, it's not that the xbox library was horrible, it's just that it was more limited than the PS2 library. I didn't have much time back then, so the library size was ok for me. Now that i have a bit more free time, i can dive into the PS2 exclusives that I've been wanting to play...
I'm not really sure what to make of this. None of the claims are substantiated with sources, it's just bullet points. The rumors cut across all platforms, so either this person is making all of this up, or is very well connected with nintendo, sony, microsoft, and several 3rd party developers. Only time will tell.
As for Street Fighter IV, what does "2d/3d/cell-shaded" even mean. From the trailer, it appears that it could go either 3d or 2d. Does she mean both....
I bought a PS2 a few months ago and retired my xbox. I have no regrets. There are many good titles that I have yet to play, and for me, there is still plenty of life left in the ps2. I'm tired of these condescending articles that call us losers for hanging on to old technology.
Many games have roughly 50% depreciation rate for the first year. Today's $60 game will be $30 next year... good things come to those who wait. I'm hanging back until the 360 completely resolves the...
It's obvious that he's a serious collector, and been doing this for 30+ years. I just want to know how he got his hands on some of that stuff... he must have connections. Selling everything at once must have been a difficult decision
How does a person even get a collection that massive? I wonder how much he really spent to get all of that, he couldn't have bought it all first hand. He's probably going to have post partem depression after the sale, seriously.
That doesn't sound like an addiction. An addiction is where a gamer is overly obsessed and begins to neglect the everyday chores of life. "Uh, oh, he plays games for a few hours, he must be an addict." showbizspy must not know much about gaming, or rather, they are trying to drive traffic with a catchy headline.
He sounds like a regular gamer to me.
Interviewing gamers was a good idea, but it's hard for people to be on camera for the first time. But yea, the recap episodes seemed like an easy time filler. Maybe they're planning something big for Christmas...
Probably a fake. This type of video could have been made from a create a character, probably from Soul Calibur 3, or Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.
