Actually, the recession in the US is officially over, since Sept. But most people are still feeling it.

Yeah, it is just ok... but it was only $6. Can live with that.
Ok.... this looks very promising.... time to go back and play UC2 again.
@RedDragan
In 2009, the last year we have complete data, world wide sales of video games was $230B, of which the US was $112B.
This is data from Capcom,btw... not US propaganda ;)
disagrees..... you are entitled to your own opinions, not your own facts.
UKGeezer...
In regard to MS, neutral might best describe the prevailing attitude that we have towards MS at the moment.
Try to stay away from broad sweeping generalizations.....
Cheers mate!
5% to 7% better.... is that qualitative or quantitative??
I think the PS3 would have stronger sales if bluray had a future with longer legs...... most of my friends stream content now, bypassing the disc altogether. Although I still prefer having the PS3, I can see why the home theater aspect of the device has been blunted somewhat, making it seem more $$$ in the consumers eye, if in fact bluray is not important to the average Joe.
The giving up comments are just dumb.... we would have a $500 PS3 or a $400 360 today if not for th...
Yeah, that must be the Wii's market the 360+Kinect ate into... would explain the numbers anyway. Casual gammer Christmas.
Good for the industry... all around.
Man.... it looks like my PS3 will get a workout in 2011.... a lot of first day buys. It looks at this point that my 360 budget won't be stretched at all due to a lack of compelling titles, aside from a very few, so at the end of the day I'll call it a wash.
No fanboy-ism... both look loads of fun.
Whoa dude, calm down..... you seem angry.... don't know why.
You see this report we are all talking about is for the consumption of shareholders so I talk about it in that context. I don't really care about the numbers beyond a certain point... it was just an interesting read. I certainly don't equate numbers to quality (looks at Twilight), and I'm platform agnostic, happy with my PS3 AND my 360, and not wanting to attack one side or the other. Sorry if yo...
Killzone 3 thumbs up!
3D TV thumbs down.... in its current state.
So do you think they just make numbers up for the share holders then? No methodology whatsoever? I'm not sure, but the SEC might want to look into to them if thats the case.....
oh.. thanks.... a little embarrassed I did see that myself.
The US is a significant, most likely the largest, single market that we have data for so people talk about it. If someone would publish world wide data we can talk about that too.
Personally, I like to see all platforms do well. It is best for the users that way.
It seems the 1million plus estimates are going to be on target. Surprised a little by the slight drop y-to-y for the ps3 in the US though.
Don't understand the math for the Move either.... how is 4.1m really 2.5m?
We seem to have a tight supply where I live, just based on my anecdotal search. Several models not available, especially based around Kinect.
I'm not even close to hardcore and I've had both systems for years. I use the ps3 about 75% of the time now, but my kids prefer the 360.
I've played both.... neither are mature technology yet....
As I said, most people are still feeling it... save for the very wealthy, who are insulated from almost every cyclical aspect of our "pseudo-caplalistic" economy. And I would agree that the National Bureau of Economic Research is not without its faults, but data is data, and the data suggests we are out of it. The middle class will still feel it for years, I'm afraid.
BTW, the link was to a UK newspaper, The Independent, not CNN. Not the Economist, but still,...
