@ my disagree I wanted to point out that we (Linux users who use a ps3) knew of this in speculation last summer. Here is the earliest article I can find of the reference to the removal of the ability to operate Linux on the (fat) PlayStation ps3.

They (SONY) counter it by actually having a steady stream of GREAT first party exclusive releases,not to even mention a BLURAY player, built in hard drive and wifi, an obvious edge in the graphical department and the promise of not getting rrod.
Me too.It is much better than Bayoneta IMO. The only other multiplat I recently enjoyed as much was Batman.

I finished GOD of war, so I plop in Bayonetta (Its been patiently waiting for me).Wow. I know this is only my opinion now, but I don't like it at all so far. Horrible characters, no plot whatsoever and the remix Frank Sinatra is just killing me.(and I LOVE Sinatra).That whiny Joe Pesci type guy drives me nuts! Its not useless.You can do ANYTHING inside linux. play emulators, run programs, whatever you want.It turns the ps3 into a little supercell computer! The guy who hacked the iphone hacked the ps3 through linux and that is why they are removing this ability,to stop it from being able to play burnt bluray ps3 games.

Although wall-mart should stop selling the title , the consumer should still educate themselves before making ANY software purchase.The publisher should also recall any existing stock when a game can no longer be played.This is a double foul.
