The date is December 31, 2025. This isn't a news story, that date is clearly a placeholder in Amazon's system.

Hope the appeal goes through. They're right that the judge should have recused themselves, at the very least.

Another day, another opinion piece Abriael posted to be angry at the FTC over.

Unfortunately, this is unsurprising. I hope Japanese developers are able to organize and unionize at some point in the future, but it's not looking like it'll happen any time soon.

Yeah man, Xbox is so great for smaller developers.

Oh wait what are these articles stating otherwise.

"Indefinitely" just means we don't know how long the strike would last. Considering the studios they're targeting, this would severely impact both Sony and Microsoft's first- and third-party releases and push back a lot of games.

They're not wrong, they're just being inflammatory.

Anyway I support the union and hope the studios meet their demands for fair compensation and protections against AI voice sampling and facial captu...

Gamepass is horrible for developers, why would you want the second biggest publisher to follow the business practices of the third biggest publisher. Clearly whatever Sony is doing works for them and for their third parties.

Phil Spencer following the Netflix model for video game releases has seriously hurt this industry and warped the perspective of many consumers.

This article is just going off the big FTC document leak, saying that the unannounced and probably delayed Oblivion remaster and Indiana Jones are going to do better in 2024 than Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Rise of the Ronin, and possibly Silent Hill 2, all of which are announced and probably coming next year.

It's clickbait.

Unlike those services, the PS+ price hike wasn't by dollar amount, it was by percentage. Across the board the prices for each PS+ tier increased about 30%. The lowest tier went up by way less than the highest tier. It's a clear money-grab, especially when they haven't even offered more Classics to warrant the huge increase on the Premium tier.

Also, unrelated, but it's still bad when those other services increase the price of their subscriptions as well, so ...

The 3060 price decreasing has nothing to do with CS2 launching, there's no correlation. This is just another pinned ad. Not that it matters because the moment there's any pushback this will get unpinned and another ad will take its place.

Less live service nonsense, I hope. Maybe more than one or two first-party releases a year would be nice as well. It'd be nice if they fixed the PS+ price hike too, but that's less likely because the only reason they would have increased the price in the first place is if it wasn't making them enough money to satisfy shareholders.

We won't see the real effects of Jim leaving for another 2-3 years and it all depends on who is replacing him.

I think it's pretty clear the FTC isn't seeking to waste taxpayer money, considering they've also recently started a similar antitrust court case against Amazon. Too much corporate consolidation is harmful to the industry as you can see with what's going on with Embracer Group shutting down studios they bought, and while it's fair to also not approve of Sony acquisitions (and I would agree), it's impossible to find a parallel on the same scale as what Microsoft is atte...

The FTC will continue its case 21 days after the 9th Circuit ruling on the FTC's appeal, which will likely pass.

There is no preliminary injunction stopping the merger from happening, meaning Microsoft can go ahead with the acquisition, however the FTC can still break them up if they win the case.

Makes sense, oftentimes developers are losing money when they allow games to be on Game Pass because of how undervalued they are. Just look at developer testimonies for games like Outriders, Furi, and Inside. Sure they're not exactly huge games, but games used to be able to continue to sell and have a long sale life.

Now with Game Pass there's no incentive to buy those games and whatever the lump sum Microsoft offers is what you as a developer are forced to accept, ...

Nothing in this article pointed to a release date, just talking in circles about information we already knew and the writer getting frustrated at the end about Metal Gear Solid 6 not getting announced.
