To be completely honest, Disney didn't even cross my mind, but you're right! With their proven experience handling franchises and their wealth of talent, they could turn some of Capcom's struggling franchises around. And who knows, maybe we might finally get a decent live action Street Fighter movie ;)
Really well said!
Well it's an opinion, and one many people share. You're entitled to yours just as much as anyone else is to theirs.
Makes day-to-day life depressing sometimes, eh?
See, I disagree. I think too many people don't get enough politics and world news on their own because they're too inundated with games. So why not educate them while they play?
I have and it's unclear whether their numbers have increased or decreased over the past 50 years because accurate data simply wan't kept back then. And the picture is meant to show their changing environment, not their impending doom.
I don't think you read my article
Another great episode!
I love these speculative articles; they're always fun to read. But some of your predictions are wayyy out there.
#4 Nintendo has already stated they will not be showing off any new hardware at this years E3
#5 Sony's VR is still heavily in development. There is no way they will be announcing a price just months after first unveiling it to the world.
#18 The Last of Us 2! Really? How many people do you think work at Naughty Dog? They ...
In terms of ease of development - absolutely. You're right about that. They were so even that it really comes down to what game series' you enjoyed the most.
Good article, but I disagree with your order of the 360 and PS3. I feel that those should be switched. The PS3, in my opinion, has the better exclusives. Combine that with free online and a blu-ray player, and you have a superior console. Just my two cents.
@dillhole
That's why they are beginning to see limping sales. Activision will always sell enough to make their money back, but they will never see MW2 numbers again unless they take risks. They did in 2007 with MW and it paid off brilliantly.
I don't think that would be drastic enough because World at War, and MW 2 and 3 both had 3rd person modes. Just doing a 3rd person mode isn't a risk.
A friend of mine has said the same thing. This seems like a feeling some people get when watching movies in 3D.
If that's "actually" in-game, awesome. But I doubt it.
If they show Zelda (which you're right, they should) I will be satisfied. That game will be enough for me to purchase a Wii U. I guess that makes me shallow.
They're in a tricky spot. They could bundle it with Smash or Kart and keep it at $300, but it's not an official price drop, so it won't have the same effect on consumers.
I thought the least bold was the Kinectless Xbox. To each his/her own. The Last Guardian isn't bold on its own, you're right, that's why included two stipulations: PS4 title and Q4 release. But I am glad you read it. Thanks!
Good piece! I'm not as optimistic as you, however. AAA studios have much to risk and would rather churn our shoot em ups than a niche market genre like survival horror. It's a shame. And, unfortunately, early impressions of The Evil Within are poor :(
Bring back Tanya and I'm in
Good list. I would have had James Rodríguez as number one. His hype is out of control. I'm not sure what your age cutoff was for this piece though.
