"xmb is not ideal for a portable system" - the PS3 got the XMB from PSP!
The PS3 can't multi task like that, running Home in the background takes up to much system resources, that leaves coding it into the XMB or buying a PS Vita.
You think it's coming after five years, when it's in this new device which they want to sell.

I'm thinking that with Steve Baller saying Win 8 is their biggest risk in the video, that Win 8 might be have a blend of WP7 in it and aim it more for a tablet market.
Battery life, comfort and design, with this idea then you can have options of what you want to use.
Yea it's the new codec which will stop you from party chatting with older dashboard users. I welcome the new codec clearer voice chat on the 360 is a welcomed update.
What problem are you having?
I'm only had the 360 since the new slim model so I don't remember the blade days. I'm interested in this new update from what I've seen online it seems to be faster than the current one, hopefully this is the case when in game too.

The notification design's functionality isn't spoken about within the article, it's the design. There is no reason to go to all that work to change the entire UI and not change the notifications also.
